EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. Classified employees shall, once a year on July 1 be credited with 100 working days of paid sick leave, including any regular sick leave to which he or she is entitled under Article 10.3. Pay for the extended sick leave days shall be paid at 50% of the employee’s regular salary. This paid sick leave shall be in addition to other paid leaves, holidays, vacation, or compensation time to which the employee may be entitled.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. 1. A teacher suffering from any medical condition which requires them to be hospitalized or under home care that exhausts his/her accumulated sick leave may apply to the School Committee for an extended sick leave benefit. This benefit shall be equal to one-half (1/2) of a teacher’s accumulated sick leave at the onset of the absence, to a maximum of ninety (90) days.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. In accordance with Education Code Section 88196, a regular 16 classified unit member shall be credited once each fiscal year with a total of one hundred (100) 18 member’s regular salary. Each fiscal year shall be considered a new period and subsequent one 19 hundred (100) half-paid days of sick leave shall be applied, but shall not be cumulative from year 20 to year. The paid sick leave under this section shall be used only after all other sick leave 21 entitlement has been exhausted and shall be exclusive of any other paid leave, holidays, or 22 vacation time to which the unit member may be entitled.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT a) The Company will offer an extended sick leave arrangement to assist employees, other than casual employees, who are unable to work because of long term sickness or injury and are suffering substantial financial hardship.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. (A) All full-time non-probationary employees may be eligible for an extended sick leave benefit (ESLB) with pay for documented major medical illnesses or injury of the employee only. Major medical illnesses or injury is defined as a serious illness or injury which precludes an employee from performing the duties of his/her classification and includes but is not limited to in- patient surgery or hospitalization, heart attack, complications from pregnancy, and cancer. The ESLB may be available for use beginning on the second (2nd) consecutive work day of absence necessitated by such major medical illness or injury and shall be limited to twenty (20) non-accruable working days in a twelve (12) month period beginning on July 1 of each year and extending through June 30 of the following year. Employees must use accumulated sick leave, vacation or be absent without pay during the first day of absence immediately preceding the ESLB due to the major medical illness or injury. ESLB will be deducted from an eligible employee's family and medical leave entitlement. If an employee returns to work before exhausting the ESLB, the unused portion of the twenty (20) days will be available for use for a second major medical illness or injury during the same twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30) under the same terms and conditions as set forth above. ESLB may not be carried over from one twelve (12) month period to the next. If an absence covered by ESLB extends from one twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30) to the next, the employee must return to work before becoming eligible for an additional twenty (20) days of ESLB in the next twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30).

EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. If, a unit member is absent because of an accident or illness not in the scope of employment, the unit member shall utilize all accrued sick leave hours and then receive 50% of his/her regular pay for a period of up to 100 days per year. Such paid leave shall be exclusive of all paid leaves, vacation, holiday, or the unit member may elect to utilize accrued vacation or time before the commencement of the extended illness leave at 50% pay.
