Conduct of Union Business. 3.1 Non-employee authorized Union representatives may enter the Medical Center for the purpose of investigating grievances and ascertaining whether the provisions of this Agreement are being complied with, provided there is no interference with patient care or interruption of work or administration of the Medical Center, and provided further, that prior to entering the Medical Center proper, they shall first obtain authorization from a designated representative of the Medical Center.

Conduct of Union Business. A. The Union agrees that Union business will, insofar as possible, be conducted during non- working hours. An Employee who has a grievance may meet with his xxxxxxx to discuss his grievance on scheduled working time, provided the operations of the Company are not disrupted and with prior management approval. The Company will not unreasonably withhold such approval. The Union and the Company will make every effort to keep to a minimum the time spent in disposing of grievances and disputes. It is mutually agreed and understood that the intent of this paragraph is that there be a spirit of cooperation in facilitating timely grievance investigation without disruption of Company operations. In furtherance of this objective, any difficulties will be promptly discussed between the Xxxxxxx and the Department Director or Director of Human Resources, as appropriate.
Conduct of Union Business. No UNION business shall be conducted at any time during working hours except by prior permission of the immediate supervisor. Provided, it is understood and agree that the president or xxxxxxx may present an emergency type grievance to his/her immediate supervisor during working hours and only such time shall be used for such purpose as may be reasonably necessary to alleviate the emergency nature of the grievance, it being further understood and agreed that any further proceedings on such grievance will normally be taken before or after working hours except when the parties agree to the contrary in any case. No employee shall leave the school during working hours except upon prior permission of his/her immediate supervisor. However, the UNION president or his/her designee may leave his/her building to investigate and/or process an emergency type grievance which shall be defined as an immediate threat to an employee’s health, safety, or welfare.

Such reasonable time shall not exceed one (1) hour per shift nor two (2) hours per week. Union Orientation: The Union will be permitted fifteen (15) minutes time with new Employees during the Employee orientation program. The Union representative will not lose pay or time if already scheduled to work. The purpose of this meeting will be to afford the Union representative an opportunity to familiarize new Employees with the Union's role within the Facility and the bargaining unit agreement. The Employer will inform the Union representative of the time and place for general orientation. The Union representative will conduct the Union orientation at the agreed upon time or arrange for another Union worksite leader to conduct the session.
