WORKING HOURS AND WORK SCHEDULES. Employees in the City Hall bargaining unit work a "forty (40) hour work week", which may include but is not limited to a 9/80, 4/10, 5/8, or any other lawful schedule. The City agrees to meet and confer with employees in the City Hall bargaining unit should it propose to change or modify the work schedules listed above. City Hall employees assigned to the Yard will follow the Yard's work schedule which is currently a 4/10. The City Manager or designee(s) may change the work hours and/or days within the work schedules listed above for City Hall bargaining unit employees, without any obligation to meet and confer, so long as the employee is provided notice fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the effective date of the change. “Changes in work schedules” are intended to be of a permanent nature or for an extended period of time.

WORKING HOURS AND WORK SCHEDULES. It is not the City's intent to eliminate the 4/10 work schedule for Yard employees. The City agrees to meet and confer with employees in the Yard bargaining unit should it propose to change or modify the 4/10 work schedule. The City Manager or designee(s) may change the work hours and/or days within the 4/10 work schedule for Yard bargaining unit members upon fourteen (14) calendar daysnotice to the affected employee. The Department Head or designee(s) will meet and discuss with any affected employees any proposed change of starting and ending times prior to the notice being issued. Changes in work schedules are intended to be of a permanent nature or for an extended period of time. Notwithstanding the above, employees hired prior to 2005 cannot be assigned to work more than eight (8) weekends in any calendar year, except in emergency situations. All new employees, or employees called back from the re-employment list, may be subject to a work schedule which includes weekend work without limitation.

The Chief of Police may modify or change shift hours and days off upon fourteen (14) calendar daysnotice to the affected employee. Changes in work schedules are intended to be of a permanent nature or for an extended period of time. Employees scheduled to attend training on a day when they are scheduled to work a 10 hour shift will be required to work a full shift (i.e. employees scheduled to work a 10 hour shift will be required to work the full 10 hours). Reasonable travel time, determined by the Department, will be permitted within the required work period. Travel time shall be based on the distance from the Police Department to the training location or the length of travel to the location from which the employee must be housed on or near the training site. An employee who is scheduled for training of a day or longer may be placed on an alternate work schedule to accommodate the hours of training in order to maintain the employees' required 40 hours per week credit. Employees on the 4/10 or 3/12 work schedule must have at least 8 hours off between shifts worked, except for emergency situations.

WORKING HOURS AND WORK SCHEDULES. 26.1 Except for employees subject to a particular work schedule according to Clause 26.7, the standard work week for Regular Full-Time employees varies from 32.5 to 40 hours as indicated in their offer letter. These hours are generally worked between 8h30 and 4h30 from Monday to Friday: Current hours for positions in these four categories (32.5, 35, 37.5 and 40) will not be decreased. However, the Corporation may choose to post positions with increased hours. The hours of work will be stated in the employees offer letter. Hours for Regular Part-Time employees will average a minimum of 20 hours per week for the duration of their working period as defined in the member’s employment contract.
