SHORT UNION LEAVE. (PAID) The Employer shall grant up to eight (8) paid shifts per contract year per program covered by this Agreement for employees to engage in public advocacy for quality long-term care, as agreed between the Employer and the Union. The Employer shall make a good faith effort to maximize the number of employees released on unpaid leave to attend one of the main days designated as public advocacy days by the Union.

SHORT UNION LEAVE. ‌ With thirty (30) days’ notice to the Employer and upon Employer approval, employees who are attending the Union’s annual convention, the convention of SEIU, or who are requesting other time off for Union business, shall be granted unpaid release time for the duration of the Convention or event. Such leave shall be granted on a first-come, first- serve basis. If there are staffing problems, the Employer may limit the number of employees granted Union leave at any one time to no more than five (5), and no more than three (3) from nursing and no more than one (1) from any other department. This limit shall not apply to negotiations. Employees on unpaid Union leave may utilize any earned PTO while on leave.

SHORT UNION LEAVE. (PAID) The Employer will designate up to eight (8) paid shifts per calendar year to compensate an employee engaging in in-person public advocacy for quality long-term care on a scheduled work day, as approved by the statewide Labor-Management Coalition for Quality Care. The Union and the Employer may, upon mutual agreement, establish additional paid time off for an employee to participate in an approved in-person public advocacy event. Also, as patient care demands allow, the Employer shall reasonably schedule off any employee requesting to participate in an advocacy day scheduled by SEIU 775. The Employer will not unreasonably deny such requests when an employee makes them before being expected to work on the requested public advocacy day.

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).

  • Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.

  • Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions:

  • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office. A leave of absence without pay shall be granted to an employee who is a member of the Union and who is:

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Association Leave A total of 10 days of leave with pay during the current school year shall be granted the Association for use by the Association. A maximum of four additional days may be used for Association leave and the substitute’s salary will be reimbursed to the Board by the Association. The President of the Association will notify the Superintendent as to the educators and dates involved at least five (5) days before such leave is desired.

  • Xxxxx’s leave (1) An employee is entitled to use up to 10 days accrued personal leave each year to care for a member of his or her immediate family or a member of his or her household who is ill and requires his or her care. The employee is not entitled to take xxxxx’s leave for a particular period if another person has taken leave to care for the person for the same period.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid released time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year.

  • Union Business Leave 1. The five members of the Union Negotiating Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the Board, or its representatives, and the Union for the purpose of negotiating the terms of a contract, when such meetings take place at a time when such members are scheduled to be at work.

  • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.
