Short leave definition

Short leave means the leave which was available to be granted to staff members in the case of pressing necessity that was replaced by the family and community service leave from 20 September 1994.
Short leave means temporary release from a prison of a prisoner for the purpose of enabling the prisoner to visit his or her home or other approved place for a period not exceeding 7 nights excluding travelling time; and
Short leave means leave taken for matters of a personal and pressing nature which arise without notice and require immediate attention.

  • Short Leave: Short leave is for urgent business that occurs without notice.

  • Part-time Professional Employees will receive Short leave on a pro-rata basis.

  • Short leave will not exceed two (2) consecutive paid working days or three (3) paid days in a calendar year.

  • Short leave refers to a very short paid absence.‌ Short leave is as a rule only granted for part of a working day.

  • Short leave of two (2) weeks or less may be approved by the Superintendent, without Board approval, after submission of request to the Superintendent.
