Return from Medical Leave. Teachers returning from Medical Leave within one (1) year shall have the right to return to the same, if certified or, if that positions has been eliminated, substantially equivalent position, provided that Annual Contract teachers must have been recommended, or would have been recommended, for reemployment by their principals. The returning teacher shall notify the principal no later than November 1 if he/she intends to return the second semester, or by March 1 if he/she intends to return the first semester. Such teacher shall be assigned by the beginning of the next semester. A teacher returning from Medical Leave more than one (1) year after leave commenced shall be assigned to the first available vacant position in the District for which he/she is qualified, provided that if more than one (1) teacher has given notice pursuant to this paragraph, the teacher who gave such notice at the earliest date shall be assigned to the position in question.

The employee shall notify the principal/immediate supervisor at least sixty (60) days in advance of the date he/she intends to return. An employee returning from Medical Leave more than one (1) year after leave commenced shall be assigned to the first available vacant position in the District for which he/she is qualified, provided that if more than one (1) employee has given notice pursuant to the paragraph, the employee who gave such notice at the earliest date shall be assigned to the position in question.
Return from Medical Leave. The County may require an employee to submit to drug and alcohol testing during any medical exam required by the County to determine the employee's fitness for duty when returning to work from a leave of absence.

Upon return to work from a medical leave of absence, the employee will be updated within seven calendar days on any procedural or policy changes that took place in his/her absence.
Return from Medical Leave. When an employee returns to work from medical leave (including maternity and disability) prior to loss of seniority under Article VI, Section 5, Termination of Seniority, they will be reinstated within two (2) weeks following presentment of a medical release to the Department Head/Elected Officials signed by the employee’s attending physician.
