Termination of Seniority. Seniority for all purposes shall be terminated for any of the following reasons:

Termination of Seniority. Seniority (layoff and non-layoff) shall terminate upon cessation of the employment relationship. Solely for the purpose of example, the following are set forth as events which evidence cessation of the employment relationship: discharge, resignation, retirement, removal from the rehire list in accordance with this Article, and failure to return from a leave of absence.
Termination of Seniority. Seniority shall end upon termination of the regular employment relationship, such as discharge, resignation, retirement, eighteen (18) consecutive months of layoff, failure to accept an offer of comparable employment upon recall or when subject to layoff, failure to meet the requirements of a statement of continued interest in recall, failure to respond to a final notice of recall to a comparable position, or failure to return from a leave of absence on a timely basis in accordance with an approved leave of absence.
Termination of Seniority. The following situations constitute breaks in continuous service for which seniority is lost:
