Requests for Job Sharing. Requests for job sharing shall be submitted in writing to the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources with a copy of the request to the President of the Education Association. Requests shall be submitted no later than February 1 of the year prior to the beginning of the year for which the request is made. Requests must clearly indicate:  The names, licensure and endorsements of the two applicants;  A description of the job to be shared;  The teaching arrangement desired;  The percent of time each participant will work;  Any special provisions different from the normal full-time contract. All job share assignments will be limited to one full year duration. Requests for renewal must be submitted annually to the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources by February 1. An employee will be allowed to participate in a job share for no more than six (6) consecutive years. After the sixth consecutive year the teachers will be assigned by administration to open full-time positions in the District and must serve in those positions at least one year before becoming eligible to apply for another job share opportunity. Approval Process Each job share will be evaluated by the administration and recommendations will be submitted to the School Board. The Board of Education will make the final decision on all renewals. The Board’s decision to approve or deny the job share request shall be final and will not be subject to the grievance and arbitration provisions of this Agreement. The Board’s decision will be communicated to both teachers and the Education Association in writing within five (5) days of the date of the decision. If the request is approved the applicants will be notified of the conditions and terms of the approval. Such notice shall include a description of the job to be shared, the percentage of time each participant will work, provisions controlling salary and benefits, and any unique or unusual conditions. Each request will be considered by the Board on its individual merits. Job sharing requests will be considered for the following reasons:  Child-rearing;  Health (personal or family member);  Continuance of education. The number of job shares in the District shall not exceed two (2) in each building in any one year. Additional requests may be considered at the discretion of the administration. Requests for Job Sharing. Two eligible teachers may request job sharing by submitting a proposed written job share plan to the appropriate building principal by March 1 for the following school year. The job sharing plan shall include, but not be limited to, communication plans regarding academic, behavioral, emotional and social needs of individual students, division of teaching responsibilities, schedule of work hours and/or days, shared planning times, substitution procedures, attendance at meetings, institute days, in-service days, open houses, parent conferences, field trips, and other teaching responiblilites.
Requests for Job Sharing. The County will consider Job Sharing requests submitted by employees. The request shall include a comprehensive plan of how the work would be accomplished. Management may modify or terminate job sharing arrangements upon two weeksnotice to the employee(s). Wherever practicable the department will provide a sixty (60) day notice. Unless it is specifically stated otherwise, Job Sharing employees will receive benefits based on their part time status.
Requests for Job Sharing. Teachers requesting a job share position must fill out a Job Share Plan Approval Form. The plan must be submitted to the Principal and Superintendent by February 15 of the preceding school year for which the job-sharing is requested. The Superintendent will inform the participants by March 10 whether or not the plan will be recommended to the Board for approval. The Superintendent, after consultation with the teachers and the Principal, will establish guidelines for the implementation of the plan. Participants in job sharing positions will receive benefits on a pro-rated basis. Seniority is gained on a pro-rated basis. Job sharing plans shall be considered and approved on a yearly basis.

Positions filled through Job Sharing must lend themselves to this type of staffing arrangement. There should be minimal disruption to the operation of the Employer.
