Percentage in Lieu of Benefits. Part-time employees (except as stated in the Grandparented Letter of Understanding) will receive percentage in lieu of all health and welfare benefits, holiday pay, and sick leave. Where the employee does not participate in the pension plan the amount of the percentage in lieu shall be 13%. Where the employee does participate in the pension plan, the percentage in lieu shall be reduced by an amount equal to the employers’ contribution to the pension plan and the amount of percentage in lieu will continue to conform to the Employment Standards Act. When a part-time employee changes her/his status she/he relinquishes the right to return to her/his former benefits treatment. It is agreed and understood that such payment in lieu includes payment in lieu of holidays for newly hired regular part-time, casual and temporary full-time employees.

(a) The hourly salary rates, inclusive of the percentage in lieu of fringe benefits in effect during the term of this Agreement for all regular and casual part-time employees shall be those calculated in accordance with the following formula: Applicable straight time hourly rate + 13%
Percentage in Lieu of Benefits. 224.1 Permanent employees who regularly work less than seventeen and a half (17.5) hours per week shall be entitled to sixteen percent (16%) of regular earnings in lieu of all benefits (i.e. as listed for temporary and casual employees.) 224.2 Temporary and casual employees shall be entitled to twelve percent (12%) of regular earnings, which premium payment shall be considered to be in lieu of all the following benefits: MSP EHB Dental Plan Group Insurance Registered Savings Plan Group Income Continuance Sick Leave Gratuity Paid Leave of Absence Paid Vacation Leave Paid Statutory Holiday Leave Temporary and casual employees who have worked one thousand five hundred (1500) hours within the past fifty-two (52) consecutive pay periods shall be increased to sixteen percent (16%) of regular earnings.

Percentage in Lieu of Benefits. All categories of part-time employees shall be eligible for twelve percent (12%) of their regular hourly rate of pay in lieu of all fringe benefits contained in articles 11.2, 11.3, 13, and 24 of the collective agreement. Part-Time, Casual and Temporary Employees Part-time and casual or temporary employee shall receive in lieu of all fringe benefits (being those benefits to an employee paid in whole or in part by the Hospital as part of direct compensation or otherwise, save and except salary, vacation pay, call-back guarantee, court attendance, bereavement pay, responsibility allowance) an amount added to her earnings equal to fourteen (14%) percent of that portion of her earnings based on her regular straight time rate of pay and regular hours worked in each pay period.

Percentage in Lieu of Benefits. A part-time employee, having achieved probation, shall receive in lieu of all fringe benefits (being those benefits to an Employee, paid in whole or part by the Employer, as part of direct compensation or otherwise save and except salary, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, reporting pay, jury and witness duty, bereavement pay) an amount equal to 6% of his/her straight time hourly rate for all straight time hours paid.
Percentage in Lieu of Benefits. Casual Employees Notwithstanding the provisions of Articles 19, 20, 21, 23.09, and Article 25, all casual employees shall receive fourteen percent (14%) of the employee’s regular straight time wages in lieu of all paid holidays, sick leave, car insurance and employee benefits plans in Article 25. Casual employees who are enrolled in OMERS will receive 8% in lieu of all paid holidays, sick leave and employee benefit plans in Article 25. This percentage in lieu will begin to be paid after the employee has completed three months of service. In addition, the employee shall receive 4% of the employee’s straight time wages in lieu of vacation.
