Casual Part. Time The casual part-time employee who wishes to be scheduled will: i) supply her/his availability a minimum of two (2) weeks in advance of the schedule being posted, on the required form. ii) notify her/his manager/designate if they become available for work as soon as the change in circumstance becomes known.

Casual Part time (a) such weekend has been worked by the nurse to satisfy specific days off requested by such nurse; or (b) such nurse has requested weekend work; or (c) such weekend is worked as a result of exchanging shifts with another nurse. The Employer shall not cancel the pre-booked weekend tours on a third (3rd) weekend that becomes a premium pay weekend as a result of coming in on previously scheduled weekend off. This does not preclude the Employer from cancelling tours according to seniority resulting from a decrease in the staffing requirements.
Casual Part time employee
Casual Part time employees shall be excluded from the bargaining unit and such employees shall be defined as any employee whose hours do not meet the minimum hours for full‐time or regular part‐time employment, or any substitute employee.
Casual Part. Time Employees (i) may be utilized on an “on-call basis” or may be scheduled to work without having normal hours of work or days of rest scheduled; and, (ii) will not work in excess of seven hundred and eighty (780) hours in a calendar year, excluding hours worked for Snow and Ice Control (SNIC). However, if by September 1st in any year a casual part time employee is approaching seven hundred and eighty (780) hours, the Employer may request from the Local Union an extension of hours for that year. Such extension shall not be unreasonably withheld; and, (iii) is paid bi-weekly based on actual hours worked during their pay period; and, (iv) is paid at the straight-time rate of pay for all work performed up to the normal daily or weekly hours specified for full-time employees, and at overtime rates for hours in excess of the normal daily or weekly hours; and, (v) shall not be scheduled to work outside of the established department working hours unless the parties agree otherwise or overtime is paid; and, (vi) when working compressed hours shall have their hours of work reconciled after each 56-day shift cycle for the determination of overtime compensation, and overtime shall be paid for hours worked in excess of the normal compressed daily hours; and, (vii) is not entitled to benefits as provided in (viii) is entitled to a salary adjustment of 6% of base pay in lieu of any benefits once the employee has exceeded working 500 hours in each calendar year for the first two (2) years of casual part-time status only. For the third and consecutive years of casual part-time status, the salary adjustment will apply to all hours worked; and, (ix) is entitled to 4% vacation pay and will receive overtime for work performed on a statutory holiday; and, (x) has the right to decline on-call work except during SNIC; and, (xi) does not have the right to decline any scheduled work; (xii) will be deemed to be laid-off without severance pay when the employee has not worked for a period of ten (10) consecutive months.

Casual Part time and Regular Part-time Availability a. All scheduling requests must submitted to the Security Supervisor or delegate one (1) week and one (1) day prior to implementation of the next two (2) week pay period. b. Unless on approved leave or vacation, all part-time employees must be available on the following basis: i. They must be available to work a Saturday/Sunday combination every other weekend (1 in 2), days and nights. ii. They must be available for two (2) shifts per week. iii. In each two week schedule they must be available for two day shifts and two night shifts. c. All casual part-time employees shall indicate their availability for the next posted schedule to the Security Supervisor or delegate in writing by no later than one (1) week and one (1) day prior to implementation of the next two (2) week pay period. It is agreed that the above commitment of availability for these employees does not, in any way, alter their status as casual employees.
Casual Part. A nurse who required to work on a paid holiday (referred to above) shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 her regular salary.
