Step 2 - Written Grievance a. In the event the employee believes the grievance has not been satisfactorily resolved, the employee shall submit the grievance in writing to the supervisor within ten (10) calendar days after the receipt of the immediate supervisor's verbal response. The employee shall file one (1) copy with the Human Resources Department and with the Union.

Step 2 - Written Grievance. 6.3.2.1 In the event the matter is not resolved at Step 1, the grievance (stated in writing on the form provided for such purpose) shall be submitted to the Executive Director of Human Resources or designee within ten (10) workdays following the date on which the Union received written response from Step 1.
Step 2 - Written Grievance. The employee(s) and/or Union representative shall file a written grievance to the appropriate Administrator/Xxxx, Department Head (or designee) within five (5) working days of the meeting with the immediate supervisor electronically via email. The appropriate area Administrator/Xxxx, Department Head (or designee) shall meet with the employee and the union representative(s) within ten (10) working days from the date notice was received from the Union that the grievance was not resolved at Step 1. This meeting can be in person or via teleconference. If the Union designee is a Staff Representative, the Union shall notify the Office of Labor Relations of this fact prior to the meeting with the appropriate area Administrator/Xxxx/ Department Head (or designee). The parties shall attempt to resolve the grievance during this meeting. The Administrator/Xxxx/Department Head (or designee) shall render a written decision, via email within five (5) working days from the date of the meeting, copies of which will be provided to the grievant, the grievant's representative(s) and the Labor Relations Department who shall send a copy to the union office via email to an email address provided by the union. If the employee and/or employee's union representative(s) wishes to carry the grievance to the next level, a letter so stating with a copy of the grievance must be submitted to the Office Of Labor Relations either in person or electronically via email within five (5) working days of the grievance answer being provided. If the grievance is unanswered at the expiration of five (5) working days, the complaint shall be referred automatically to Step 3.

Step 2 - Written Grievance. If not settled, and the matter involves an alleged violation of the express provisions of this Agreement, the complaint shall be reduced to writing on a grievance form, signed by the affected employee, unless the employee is unavailable due to vacation or an approved leave of absence or the grievance affects more than one employee in which case it shall be signed by a union representative and the Local Union Representative. The written grievance must be filed within twenty (20) regular work days from the date of the alleged violation. On issues involving pay, the Company will only consider pay adjustments for two (2) years prior to the date of the grievance. The goal of the Company will be to issue discipline within forty-eight (48) hours (excluding weekends) of the time it becomes aware of the action that will result in discipline. Understanding that the goal is not always achievable, in all but unusual circumstances, for discipline of an employee for other than attendance, the Company will notify the Union of any discipline within ten (10) calendar days of the time the Company becomes aware of the action resulting in the discipline. The Company may extend the time because of the need for a continuing investigation or if employees (management or union) necessary for information on the situation are on vacation or a leave of absence. In no instance will discipline be issued more than thirty (30) calendar days after the Company becomes aware of the action resulting in the discipline, unless the time is mutually extended. In cases of suspensions and termination, the Company will schedule a hearing on the discipline within forty-eight (48) hours (excluding weekends) of the written notice being issued. Furthermore, in cases involving discipline, the twenty (20) calendar day period for filing a grievance does not begin to run until the Company delivers actual notice of the discipline to the shift xxxxxxx. The Company will deliver the notice to the shift xxxxxxx by placing a copy of the discipline in a box located in personnel and electronically sent to the union. The twenty (20) calendar days will start to run on the first day the shift xxxxxxx is working after the notice was placed in the box. The Company will return a written answer to the grievance to the Chief Xxxxxxx within twenty (20) calendar days following receipt of the grievance and electronic copy to the union. Said step will be non-precedent setting.
Step 2 - Written Grievance. If the problem is not satisfactorily resolved in Step 1, the grievance shall be presented in writing to the Human Resources Manager, with a copy to the appropriate department Director within ten (10) business days of the supervisor’s decision. The written complaint must state the issue, specific clause of the labor Agreement that has been violated, any relevant history to the issue, and the requested remedy. Within ten (10) business days the Human Resources Manager shall schedule a meeting with the Union to discuss the grievance. The Human Resources Manager or designee will then issue a response within ten (10) business days following the meeting. Written reprimands are not subject to appeal beyond Step 2.
