Sick Leave Certificates. If the Employer requires a sick leave certificate in accordance with past practice or the Collective Agreement and the doctor charges the employee for such certificate outside OHIP, the Employer will pay for the certificate. In the alternative, the Employer may require an employee to attend an independent physician other than the employee’s own physician to provide a sick leave certificate. In such circumstances the Employer shall pay for any medical fees charged beyond OHIP in relation thereof.

Those converted cash-out credits shall then be frozen and shall be retained for pay-out when the employee resigns or retires. The balance of the current sick leave bank, and the sick leave banks of those employees who are not eligible for cash-out, shall be retained for use by the employee to a maximum bank of seven hundred and fifty (750) hours. Notwithstanding the above, an employee may use the frozen bank to top up Workplace Safety and Insurance Board payment or to pay for any unpaid sick days the extent of the credits available the frozen bank. credits!! so used cannot be replaced.

  • Sick Leave Accrual Full-time employees will accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave in a calendar month. Part- time employees will accrue sick leave credit on the same proportional basis that their employment schedule bears to a full-time schedule, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a calendar month.

  • Sick Leave Conversion On January 1 of each year, an employee may convert up to a maximum of 30 hours accumulated sick leave at fifty percent (50%) cash value for the sole purpose of reimbursing the employee for medical costs. This conversion is subject to the following:

  • Sick Leave Exhausted (a) After earned sick leave has been exhausted, the Agency shall grant sick leave without pay for any job-incurred injury or illness for a period which shall terminate upon demand by the employee for reinstatement accompanied by a certificate issued by the duly licensed attending physician that the employee is physically and/or mentally able to perform the duties of the position.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below.   • Sick Leave Pool a. The Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security to supplement other insurance benefits by allowing employees to "buy" insurance for extended illness, or other disability. Pool Days may be used to "make an employee whole" if disability or Workers' Compensation benefits are less than normal base pay. When "buying" Pool Days, employees convert Earned Time days on a 1:3 basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Leave Accrual After the first 30 days of active military service in any one calendar year, employees shall not accrue City-paid vacation, holiday, or sick leave benefits or other forms of paid leave; provided, however, that any public employee on military leave for intermittent training periods shall continue to accrue the same vacation, sick, and holiday leave up to a maximum period of 180 cumulative days per calendar year as if the employee had not been on military leave.
