Part-Time Employees’ Benefits. Part time employees working 20 or more hours per week, will be granted full benefits on a cost sharing basis whereby the Board will pay seventy-five percent toward the premium which the Board would pay toward the benefits of a full time employee. Statutory holiday pay will be paid provided the employee qualifies as set out in Article 6.2

Part-Time Employees’ Benefits. All part-time employees, other than seasonal or substitute, shall receive these benefits provided herein on a percentage basis of the full-time employees, where not prohibited by statute or by contract.
Part-Time Employees’ Benefits. The following outlines the part-time employee benefits that are Company funded and administered. Each part-time employee is entitled to a maximum three hundred ($300.00) dollars each year of the Collective Agreement to be used for eye exams, prescription glasses, prescription drugs, dental procedures or prescribed medical therapy. The part-time benefit program does not allow for dependant coverage, and it shall be prorated for a partial year of employment. Part- time employees will receive an allowance of one hundred ($100.00) dollars for the remainder of the current contract year. part-time employees working an average of sixteen (16) hours per week qualify for the part-time benefit program. Before an employee qualifies for part-time benefits, he or she must have worked six (6) consecutive months and have worked a minimum of two hundred eight (208) hours in the past three (3) months. Entitlement continues provided the employee maintains an average of sixteen (16) hours of employment per week. Forms for claiming benefits will be provided by the Company. Receipts must be submitted with the employee's claim. Reimbursement will be provided on the next pay cheque after approval by the Human Resources department. There will be no cash value or yearly carry over associated with this benefit program. Employee Sick Pay Entitlement employees, who have worked an average of thirty (30) hours per week for a period of one (I)year are eligible for sick pay entitlement. Eligible employees will be entitled to three (3) sick days from April to March in each calendar year, commencing in years three (3) and four (4) of this Collective Agreement, to be consistent with the vacation year. Employees will receive two (2) sick days for the period between ratification and March determining entitlement, a year will be determined as April to March The sick pay entitlement will be based on the employee's regular average wage rate of the previous twelve (12) months to a maximum of eight (8) hours per scheduled shift missed, including those shifts missed during Statutory Holidays. The sick pay entitlement cannot be carried over to the next sick pay qualification period and employees will not be compensated for unused sick days. Sick pay entitlement paid will be identified separately on the employee's pay cheque stub.
Part-Time Employees’ Benefits. Part time employees shall not be entitled to any benefits except as set forth herein. Regular part-time employees shall receive pro rata sick pay, calculated by dividing the employee’s regular number of weekly hours worked by thirty five, and multiplying by twelve, which entitlement shall be accrued at the rate of one-twelfth of the pro rata entitlement per month. The College and the Union agree to study jointly during the term of the Agreement the mechanics for administering the pro rata sick pay and the feasibility of establishing transit check program for part time employees. The College agrees to codify and continue its existing practices regarding accrual of vacation benefits and Retirement Plan contributions for regular part-time employees. The College agrees that, for regular part time employees with at least one year of employment, should a holiday listed in Article 21 occur on a regularly scheduled workday, and the employee not be able to reasonably reschedule said workday to another day in that week, the employee shall be paid for said day, up to a maximum of two (2) such days per contract year. Regular part-time employees shall be eligible to participate in the College’s Medical Assistance Fund, subject to the rules and limitations of that Fund.
