New Unit Members. The work year for bargaining unit members new-to-the- District shall be one hundred and eighty seven (187) days, four (4) which shall be non-teaching days and three (3) which shall be mandatory Staff Development Buy Back Days as described in Section 9.3 below. These three (3) additional new teacher work days shall be paid at their per diem rate of pay. When computing per diem rates of pay for unit members who are new-to-the-District, a divisor of one hundred and eighty-four (184) shall be utilized.
New Unit Members. On or about the last day of each month, beginning with the month this Agreement becomes effective, the Board will submit to the Association a list of all unit members who began their employment in a bargaining unit position during the preceding thirty (30) day period. The list will include names, job titles and dates of employment for all such employees.
New Unit Members. The human resources administrator will determine the step placement of new unit members on the wage scale, except for food service. New food service unit members will be placed on Step 1 of the wage scale. The Union will be notified of anyone placed on a step higher than step one.
New Unit Members. ‌ The Human Resources Department shall distribute to all new unit members a packet of informational materials which shall be supplied by the Union. The District shall provide a new employee orientation. The District and the Union shall establish a committee to develop an orientation program for new unit members. In addition, the Union will be allowed reasonable time (typically thirty (30) to forty-five (45) minutes) at any orientation meetings to address the new unit members.

New Unit Members. Newly hired unit members will attend six days of orientation. One (1) day will be for general orientation and five (5) days will be for course work in instructional methodology. New members will receive a block of thirty (30) clock hours of professional development credit applicable towards the State Education Department’s continuing education requirement for the attendance and participation in the instructional methodology workshop. There will be no remuneration for attendance on the general orientation day.

New Unit Members. New bargaining unit members shall be fitted for a City rented/purchased uniform by the City vendor or department as soon as practical, but no later than two (2) pay periods after the initial date of employment.
New Unit Members. The District will make available to the Association, on an ongoing basis, without cost, the name, address, district e-mail address, home telephone number, job title, department/site, and date of hire of all newly hired unit members. (Addresses and telephone numbers will be deleted where privacy has been requested by the unit member.)
New Unit Members. New unit members shall begin earning annual leave as of the first full pay period of employment. Unit members whose first full pay period of employment is one (1) of the two (2) non-accrued periods in each year, will begin accrual the next pay period. Unit members will be entitled to use their annual leave after completing six (6) months of service. Unit members with less than six (6) months of service may use annual leave as a continuation of authorized sick leave. Probationary unit members who have successfully completed the new hire orientation program may be allowed to use their annual leave for unusual circumstances and job-related educational opportunities with prior approval from their District Supervisor.
