LAY OVER TIME. Where an employee is required to remain in the field on Saturday, Sunday or a General Holiday, he shall be paid eight (8) hours for each such day at straight time rates.

LAY OVER TIME. When a school bus driver has sixty (60) minutes or less of layover time between a scheduled bus run and a field trip, the driver shall be paid for up to sixty (60) minutes of lay-over time. When a bus driver has thirty (30) minutes or less of layover time between regularly scheduled bus runs, the driver shall be compensated for the actual layover time up to a maximum of thirty (30) minutes in quarter hour increments.

LAY OVER TIME. If a driver is held up outside of London because of mechanical breakdown, road conditions, or weather conditions, and obliged to hold up for one or more than one full day, he will be credited with eight (8) hours work for each day held over. Drivers who have runs of seven (7)hours or more will be given nine (9) hours free time when away from home and ten (10) hours free time when at home before reporting for a further run. CHANGE OF LOG-OUT TIME If a highway driver has his log-out time changed after he has completed his days work and the change is due to any reason other than replacing an employee who is absent through no fault of the Company, the Company will pay a penalty of one hour and thirty minutes straight time. Employees who work overtime over and above their regular daily or weekly hours shall not be required to take time off to offset such overtime. CALL BACK When an employee is called back to work after he has completed his shift for a specific job and does not continue working into his regular shift, then he shall be paid a minimum of four (4) hours pay at the appropriate penalty rate (i.e. four (4) hours straight time pay if the employee has not any work in that calendar day: four (4) hours at time and one-half if the employee has previously completed a shift: four (4) hours at double time on Sundays and Statutory Holidays). Before calculating anyovertime payment for hours in excess of forty (40) in a week, any hours for which premium payment has been payable shall first be deducted from the total hours worked. SECTION STATUTORY HOLIDAYS The Company will observe the following plant holidays: New Years Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Dominion Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day January 2nd An additional (12th) holiday will be granted if declared by the Provincial Government. LAY OVER TIME a. When an Employee is required to lay over at a customer's location at either customer or Company request to be available for work immediately when the opportunity affords, the Employee shall be paid nine (9) hours at straight time rate for each day of lay over. This shall also apply in situations where the Employee is waiting either for parts or for transportation to become available.

LAY OVER TIME. Where a driver is forced to lay over because of a breakdown or an impassible highway, he shall be entitled to the first eight (8) hours of pay at the employee’s regular hourly rate or his/her DIP pay, whichever is greater, including work time from the time of leaving the terminal.   • Break Time For daily work assignments of six or more hours, permanent and probationary employees (except bus drivers and bus aides) shall be entitled to one 15-minute break for each half of the work assignment. For work assignments of less than six hours, such employees shall be entitled to one 15-minute break. Employees who spend a majority of the workday working with a Video Display Terminal (VDT) shall be permitted to perform other job-related duties (i.e., work not involving use of a VDT) 10 continuous minutes out of each hour. Such time shall not be cumulative and shall be in addition to break time established above.
