Clothing and Safety a) The Town shall supply the Employees with all necessary tools, rubber gloves and covers, rubber boots and climbing rubber boots for lineman, coats and hats, spurs, belts, hardhats, fall arrest devices, safety glasses, safety sunglasses, leather gloves, winter mitts with liners, coveralls subject to approval of Xxxxxxx and all equipment necessary for the performance of their duties; and the City shall replace such of the said equipment or supplies as it becomes necessary to replace when due to ordinary wear. All such equipment and supplies shall be supplied without cost to the Employee.

Clothing and Safety. 17:01 The Company shall supply protective clothing and specialty tools and equipment to employees requiring same for the performance of their duties. Such tools shall not include small hand tools. Protective clothing shall include rubber gloves and covers, rubber boots, leather gloves, winter mitts and liners and safety glasses. Prescription safety glasses shall be provided by the Company not more than once every two (2) years, it being understood that the employees requiring same will produce to the Company medical evidence of need. Tools, equipment and clothing required for maintenance of service shall be replaced when worn out. Replacement shall be made only on presentation of worn-out article.

Effective January a maximum of one-hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125.00) will be subsidized by the Company to purchase one (1) pair of steel-toed shoes or boots per year. Employees may receive the equivalent of three (3) years subsidy in one year towards the purchase of quality safetyboots. Safety prescription eyeglasses are provided to the employee at no cost to the employee, limited to one pair per year unless proven to the Operations Manager that the safety eyeglasses were broken at work. If demonstrated that they were broken at work the Operations Manager can approve the purchase of a new pair of prescription safety glasses.

The safety shoes must meet the green patch standards for safety shoes. The payment will be made to all employees, except probationary employees, on the payroll as of the first Monday in February of each year. Probationary employees will be supplied with safety boots upon hiring and in the event such employee does not complete his probationary period, cost of boots shall be deducted from his last cheque. Lead Hand Lead Hand will on his normal duties, plus direct the work of other employees. He will not have the responsibility to hire, fire, or otherwise discipline employees. Bulletin Boards The Company will provide a bulletin board for the use of the Union in posting Union notices. Job When permanent job vacancies occur for any job classification within the bargaining unit, such jobs will be and posted on the Bulletin Board for five (5) days in all branches. Seniority shall govern in the filling of such vacancies where the applicant has the capability and qualificationsto perform the duties of the position an efficient manner. Interested employees must apply in writing within such five (5) working days period of the posting.
