Lead Hand definition

Lead Hand means a journeyman employee who is designated by the Employer to be in charge of four or less employees. He may perform work with the group he directs and shall work under the direction of a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ on each project.
Lead Hand means an employee in the bargaining unit responsible for overseeing other employees to ensure tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner. This employee coordinates work and ensures that procedures are followed.

  • On days where the Lead Hand is not available, another employee on that shift will be given the premium.

  • When night stocking takes place, and a Department Manager is not on duty, one (1) employee on the night stocking shift, shall be designated a Lead Hand, and shall be paid a premium in addition to the regular rate of pay of seventy-five cents ($0.75) per hour.

Nothing in this Section shall require the Company to appoint a lead Hand, or maintain the appointment of a Lead Hand.
