UNION MEMBERSHIP AND. 2.1 Each regular full-time employee within the bargaining unit whose most recent date of employment with the City of Seattle commences on or after the signing of this Agreement shall, within thirty (30) days following the date of employment within the unit, be required, as a condition of employment, to either join the Guild or pay an agency fee to the Guild or, in the case of employees with a religious objection to Guild membership as described below, pay a like amount to the Police Charity Fund or non-religious charity. When paid to the Police Charity Fund, the amount shall be reported monthly to the Guild and the City by the Police Charity Organization. Employees, by the above language, have the option of either:

UNION MEMBERSHIP AND. As a condition of employment all employ- ees covered by this Agreement shall at the expiration of their plant probationaryperiod, become members of the Union and shall remain members of the Union during the term of this Agreement to the extent of paying an initiation fee and assessment and the monthly dues uniformly required of all Union Members as a condition of acquiring or retaining membership in the Union. Dues are defined for the purpose of this Article as the regular Union dues, initiation fees and assessments as prescribed by the Constitution of the Union. The Company will, upon receipt of an au- thorization card, signed by an employee covered by Clause of this Agreement, who has completed their probationary period, shall pay an initiation fee and the Company shall deduct from the pay cheque for the last pay period of each month, the regular monthly dues of such employees. A probationary employee will pay dues, but will not have any of the rights con- tained in the Agreement until his probationary period is served and he becomes a full-time employee.The Com- pany shall remit such monies to the FinancialSecretary of Local of the Union by the fifteenth (15th) of the monthfollowing the month in which the dues were deducted. If a regular employee, because of absence from work due to compensable or non-compensable sickness or injury or approved leave of absence has no earnings during the last pay period of any month, dues deductions shall be deferred to the last pay period in the following month subject to of this Agreement. All new employees shall join the Union within thirty (30) days of employment. On each pay date on which an employee receives a pay cheque, the Board shall deduct from each employee’s pay the Union dues. The levy will be deducted in the amounts and on the dates as agreed with the Federation. The amount to be deducted shall be determined by the Union in accordance with its constitution and shall be communicated to the Board annually no later than June of each year to be effective the following September. No later than the day of the month following the month in which deductions are made under this Article, the Provincial Union dues deducted shall be remitted to the Treasurer of the Federation at Mobile Drive, Toronto, and the local levy to the Treasurer of District as directed by the bargaining unit in writing. The remittance of the dues and levy shall be accompanied with the following information on each Member: Surname and first name Social Insurance Number Amount of deducted The period of work for which amount is submitted The Union agrees to indemnify and hold the Board completely harmless against all claims, demands and expenses should any person at any time contend or claim that the Board has acted wrongfully or illegally in making Union dues deductions.

  • Membership and Dues 4.10 Membership Employees are not required to join the Association as a condition of employment. However, whether or not Employees are members of the Association they shall, as a condition of employment, pay the equivalent of union dues to the Association.

  • Membership and Dues Deduction District shall distribute CSEA-supplied membership applications to appropriate new hires (but not make any statement suggesting workers must join). District shall refer all employee questions about CSEA or dues over to the CSEA Labor Relations Representative. This agreement shall satisfy District’s duty to bargain effects of Xxxxx decision.
