GUILD MEMBERSHIP. To the extent that it may be lawful for the Company to require the Writer to do so, Writer agrees to become and/or remain a member of Writers Guild of America in good standing as required by the provisions of said Basic Agreement. If Writer fails or refuses to become or remain a member of said Guild in good standing, as required in the preceding sentence, the Company shall have the right at any time thereafter to terminate this agreement with the Writer.

GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 3.1 All employees who, on the date of the signing of this Agreement, are members of the Guild in good standing in accordance with its constitution and bylaws, or who may later join the Guild, and all new employees shall, as a condition of their employment maintain their membership in the Guild in good standing. An employee dismissed under this Article shall not receive severance pay.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 1. Any employee who is a member of the Guild on the date of execution of this contract, and any employee who becomes a member of the Guild on or after the date of execution of this contract, will as a condition of employment maintain his/her membership in good standing in the Guild.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 2.1 The City shall notify the Guild in writing within twenty (20) calendar days of the hiring of a new employee. The notification shall provide the Guild with the name, home address, home phone number, Social Security number, starting pay step, and classification of the new employee. The City shall provide the Guild up to 30 minutes to speak with new employees within their first 90 days of employment. The employee has the choice to attend or not attend the meeting with the Guild.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. Employees, at any time, have the right to become members of the Guild. There shall be no interference or attempt to interfere with the operation of the Guild.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. An Officer employed by the Company who is not a Guild Member shall, as a condition of employment, immediately apply for membership in the Guild upon taking employment with the Company. The Company agrees to employ only Members of the Guild in good standing, including probationary Officers.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 2.1 Only members in good standing in the Guild shall be retained as employees in bargaining unit positions. For purposes of this section, members in good standing shall be defined as employee members of the Guild who tender the periodic dues and initiation fees uniformly required as a condition of acquiring or retaining membership in the Guild.

GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 3.1 The provisions of this labor agreement, apart from the union security obligations, shall not apply to employees until they have completed the Washington State Law Enforcement Training Academy. Thereafter, the provisions of this labor agreement shall apply. Employees shall become and remain members in good standing in the Guild or pay a monthly service fee not to exceed the monthly Guild dues in effect to the Guild, unless otherwise provided by law. After successful completion of the Law Enforcement Training Academy, a new employee shall work under the provisions of this Agreement, but shall be subject to the normal probation period during which time the employee is an at will employee and has no liberty or property interest in his/her position and may be discharged at the Employer’s will. In the event a new employee is retained after the probation period, the date of the employee’s hire for seniority purposes, shall be considered the anniversary date of employment and the employee shall be entitled to the benefit of all provisions of this Agreement.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. The Employer and the Union agree that membership is voluntary and the Union encourages all employees covered hereunder to become and remain members in good standing of the Union.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. ‌ Employees shall have the right to refuse to join or participate in the activities of the Guild. No employee shall be interfered with, intimidated, restrained, coerced, or discriminated against by the City or by the Guild or its members because of the exercise of these rights.
