Religious objection definition

Religious objection means an objection to the specific application of the requirements of this Ordinance due to a conflicting religious belief that precludes watering on an assigned day.
Religious objection. Any represented employee who is a member of a bona fide religion, body or sect which has historically held conscientious objection to joining or financially supporting a public employee organization and is recognized by the National Labor Relations Board to hold such objections to Union membership shall, upon presentation of membership and historical objection satisfactory to the City and the Union, have sums equal to membership fees deducted and paid to one of the following charitable organizations as chosen by the employee: Berkeley Firefighters Random Acts; ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Burn Foundation; or Firefighter Cancer Support Network. Proof of payments by the employee shall be made on a monthly basis to the City as a condition of continued exemption from the requirement of financial support to the Union.
