Sick and Safe Leave. (a) The Employer recognizes that an Employee may occasionally need to take leave from work because of injury, illness, maternity or paternity leave, domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, as those terms are used in the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act. As a result, sick and safe leave with pay will be granted to an Employee consistent with this Section 7.2.

Sick and Safe Leave. Section 10.1 - Purpose‌ The purpose of this Article is to specify the details regarding the earning, accumulation, and use of Sick and Safe Leave. This Article is written in compliance with the University System of Maryland (USM) BOR Policy VII-7.45-Policy on Sick and Safe Leave for Nonexempt and Exempt Staff Employees, as amended from time to time and the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act of 2018, as well as USM BOR Policy VII-7.49 - Policy on Parental Leave and Other Family Supports for Staff, as amended from time to time.‌
Sick and Safe Leave. The Employer shall grant sick and safe leave time, without penalty, for Employees in case of illness, accident, or personal emergency for themselves or to care for any family members or dependents. Sick and safe leave may also be used for any time needed to attend court, meet with lawyers or other service providers, or take time needed to recover in any incident related to domestic or sexual abuse or violence for the Employee or to care for any family members or dependents. Employees will not be on call when on sick time.
Sick and Safe Leave. Except as otherwise provided below, the parties agree to incorporate into this MOU, BOR policy VII – 7.45 on Sick and Safe Leave, as it is revised and amended from time to time.
Sick and Safe Leave. Subd. 1. A full-time teacher shall earn sick and safe leave at the rate of eleven (11) days for each year of service of employment in the District. At the beginning of each school year, the teacher will be credited with eleven (11) days sick and safe leave on a proportionate basis to the teacher's work year.
Sick and Safe Leave. Sick and safe leave with pay will be granted to full-time employees at the rate of one day per month worked. Such leave will accrue from the date of employment and may be accumulated to a maximum of 90 days. Part-time salaried employees working 20 or more hours per week are entitled to sick leave on a pro rata basis. Sick and safe leave with pay will be granted to part-time employees working fewer than 20 hours per week, and all other hourly employees, at the rate of one hour per every 40 hours worked. Such leave will accrue from the date of employment, may be accumulated to a maximum of five days per year, and may be carried over to the following calendar year to a maximum accrual of 90 days. Sick and safe leave for all employees may be used after 90 days of service, or with prior authorization by the employees’ supervisor. Sick and safe leave may be used for personal illness and to care for ailing children, spouses, or other family members dependent on the employee for care, and shall include time off for medical and dental appointments that cannot be made outside working hours. It also may be used for absences associated with stalking, domestic violence, and sexual abuse or for any other purpose authorized by the Sick and Safe Leave Act. Sick and safe leave of more than five consecutive work days may require a doctor’s note or other appropriate certification. Any sick leave taken in advance of accrued days will be considered leave without pay, unless authorized in writing by the employee’s supervisor. Unused, accrued sick leave will not be paid upon termination of employment.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK The Supplier shall undertake its obligations arising hereunder and in all Contracts in accordance with the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System or equivalent. Both parties shall take all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of the other party’s employees and agents visiting their premises. The Supplier shall notify the Authority of any use of substances listed under COSHH regulations or the Montreal Protocol in the provision of the Services.

  • Work Health and Safety (a) The employer and employee acknowledge their responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012.

Members taking their first Sabbatical Leave after a probationary period at The University of Western Ontario shall receive 90.0% of their Base Salary; Members taking their second or subsequent Sabbatical Leave from The University of Western Ontario shall receive 85.0% of their Base Salary.

  • WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY The parties to this Agreement are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace and work practices. The parties recognise that illness or injury at the workplace is costly to the employer and the employees and also disruptive to the respective parties. To facilitate healthy and safe work practices, the parties to the Agreement are committed to discussing health and safety issues as they apply to the operations of the employer as part of the consultative measures under this Agreement. The employer and employees under this agreement may refer to their respective industrial representatives for appropriate advice or expertise in enhancing performance with due regard to health and safety initiatives. The parties also recognise the importance of conducting regular audits of the employer's operations, policies and procedures including the employees' skills, knowledge, qualifications and application of healthy and safe work practices.

  • Sabbatical Leave The purpose of a sabbatical leave is to enhance professional development, support department/unit goals, and/or meet the instructional, service, or research priorities of the university.

  • D5 Health and Safety D5.1 The Contractor shall promptly notify the Authority of any health and safety hazards which may arise in connection with the performance of its obligations under the Contract. The Authority shall promptly notify the Contractor of any health and safety hazards which may exist or arise at the Authority’s Premises and which may affect the Contractor in the performance of its obligations under the Contract.
