Safety and Other Rules. You agree to comply with the following rules at all times during your Hire Period. Not to navigate after sunset or before sunrise To observe speed limits, pass moored boats/working boatyards at tick over Not to race the boat Not to tow or be towed other than in exceptional circumstances When not underway, to moor the boat securely Not to bring onto the boat any portable heaters, lighting equipment, TV sets, electric tools or cooking appliances, inflammable liquids or substances, gas cylinders, gas barbeques, car batteries, fire arms, electrical appliances or any other items which might create dangers or hazards or overload electrical systems Dinghies, canoes or bicycles will not be allowed on board under any circumstances Not to use the boat for commercial purposes To allow the boat to be occupied only by the persons stated in the Booking Confirmation Not to allow, to be on the boat at anytime, more people than are approved for the boat as specified by the number of berths To give way to laden or unladen cargo boats, sailing craft, rowing boats, canoes and other human propelled craft Not to take the boat on to sea or tidal waters without the consent of the Company, to only cruise canals and rivers approved by the Company Not to have or carry live bait on the boat At all times comply with the bye-laws of the British Waterways Board and appropriate Navigational authorities and the Company The Company reserves the right at its reasonable discretion and without liability to restrict cruising areas or routes in the light of prevailing weather and navigation conditions Children are not permitted to handle the boat without supervision Accidents You are in charge of the boat and are responsible for its safe navigation. In the event of an accident or damage involving you or any other people or any property including but not limited to the boat, other craft or the waterway you must: Obtain the name of any boat involved, its index number the names and addresses of people involved and any witnesses Notify the Company as soon as possible with full details of the accident and any damage sustained Proceed in accordance with and follow the instructions given to you by the Company Do not admit liability under any circumstances If you do not obtain boat name, index number and names and addresses (if applicable) of the people on board, then you will be held solely responsible for any damage caused. Safety and Other Rules. The Hirer agrees to comply with the health & safety rules listed in the Boaters’ Handbook and also with the following rules at all times: To only carry those named on the Handover Document. Not to tow other craft or allow the Boat to be towed except under professional assistance in the event of breakdown or emergency. Not to cruise between sunset and sunrise. The Boat is only equipped for cruising during daylight hours. To observe all speed limits, not to race and not to cruise at a speed which creates a breaking wash or disturbs or inconveniences other waterway users. Not to take or have on the Boat without the company’s prior written permission any dinghies, canoes, inflatables, portable heaters, bicycles, vehicles, lighting equipment, TV sets, electrical appliances (other than razors), inflammable liquids or substances, gas cylinders, barbecues, car batteries, fire arms or any other items which might create dangers or hazards. At all times to observe all byelaws, navigational limits or instructions and advice of British Waterways and other navigational authorities and the Company and their respective officers and employees. The Company reserves the right at its discretion without liability to restrict cruising areas or routes in the light of prevailing conditions.
Safety and Other Rules. The Hirer agrees to comply with the following rules at all times for the health and safety of the persons on the boat and other persons and for safeguarding the boat and other property: a) to ensure that at all times while the boat is being navigated or is transiting locks the minimum age of the operator onboard and in charge is 18 years; b) to moor the boat securely; c) to allow the boat to be occupied only by the persons named in the booking confirmation; d) not to tow other craft or allow the boat to be towed except under professional assistance in the event of breakdown or emergency; e) not to cruise between sunset and sunrise (the boat is only equipped for cruising during daylight hours); f) to observe all speed limits, not to race and not to cruise at a speed that creates a breaking wash or disturbs or inconveniences other waterway users; g) not to take or have on the boat without the Company’s prior written permission, any dinghies, canoes, inflatables, portable heaters, bicycles, vehicles, lighting equipment, TV sets, electrical appliances (other than razors), inflammable liquids or substances, gas cylinders, barbecues, car batteries, firearms or any other items which might create dangers or hazards; h) not to use the boat for business purposes; i) not to allow on the boat at any time, more persons than the maximum number of berths and under no circumstances more than 9 persons; j) to give way to laden or unladen cargo boats, sailing craft, rowing boats and other human propelled craft; k) at all times to observe all by-laws, navigational limits, or instructions and advice of Canal and River Trust, other navigational authorities, the Company and their respective officers and employees; l) not to have or carry any live fishing bait on the boat. The boat may only be taken on canals. Experienced hirers should seek the agreement of the Company at the start of the hire period if they wish to cruise on rivers or into Bristol Floating Harbour. The Company reserves the right at its discretion, without liability, to restrict cruising areas or routes in the light of prevailing conditions. If the Hirer is reported for improper navigation during the hire period or is in breach of this section 12 and if the Company has good reason to believe that it will be involved in any expense or penalty as a consequence then the Company in its sole discretion may recover any costs from the Hirer and the Hirer agrees that the Company may collect payment from VISA/MasterCard ...

If you are reported for improper navigation during the Hire Period or if You are in breach of any of the rules in condition 9 and if the Company has good reason to believe that it will be involved in any expense or penalty as a consequence then at the End of Hire the Company may retain the security deposit against prospective future liabilities, provided that it shall pay it into a separate client account. If no action has been taken after a maximum period of 6 months from the Hire Date the Company shall return the Security Deposit to you together with accrued interest. Notify the Company by telephone immediately with full details of the accident including damage incurred. NOT IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ADMIT OR ALLOW ANY OTHER PERSONS ON THE BOAT TO ADMIT LIABILITY TO ANY OTHER PERSON. Not to carry or have carried out any repairs without the consent of the Company. Proceed in accordance with and follow the Company's instructions. In the event of accident the Company may repossess the boat and the hiring contract shall then terminate without liability on the Company.
