THEFT OR LOSS. In case of theft or loss, RENTER is responsible for the replacement value of the equipment during the rental period. In case of abuse, damage or theft by any person, the RENTER will be charged for the repair or replacement of the equipment.

Landlord shall not be responsible for lost or stolen personal property, equipment or money occurring within the Premises or the Building, regardless of how or when the loss occurs. Tenant, upon leaving the Premises at the end of any day, shall see that all windows and exit doors from the Premises are closed and locked. Tenant shall furnish Landlord with “after-hours” emergency telephone numbers, for the sole use of Landlord at its sole and absolute discretion. Except for emergency purposes, Landlord will use its best efforts to keep such telephone numbers confidential.
THEFT OR LOSS. If the device is lost or stolen on school property, report it immediately to the teacher and school site principal. For theft or loss off-campus, the device should be reported to the local police department. A copy of the police report must be sent to the District within 48 hours of the discovery of the loss.

If the learning tool(s) is stolen or lost, the Student agrees to immediately report the theft or loss to the nearest Police Station to where the theft/loss occurred and file a police report. The Student shall obtain a police report number, division number, constable’s name and badge number, and submit the information to both Campus Security and the IT Service Desk. Please note that a replacement learning tool(s) will not be issued until all applicable fees have been paid by the Student (subject to the deductible described in section 6 above). After assessing the circumstances, the Institution may, in its sole discretion, elect to discount or waive the Student’s financial responsibility for theft or loss.

Appropriate protocol in the case of lost data and or equipment will be centrally managed. Law Enforcement may be notified. SECTION TEN DATA SECURITY/APPROPRIATE USE Employees are responsible for the confidentiality of documentation, and communications. District Representatives are responsible for meticulous guarding of data. Care should be taken to minimize the likelihood that confidential information is compromised in any way and could result in a breach of NY Ed Law 2d. Data created as an employee is the intellectual property of the district. Care to maintain data and safeguard data while an employee Employees are responsible for the confidentiality of documentation, and communications. • Individual logins and password are confidential and are not to be shared with others. • Do not login with your credentials and allow others to access on your account, as you are held liable for any violations. • To minimize use of unauthorized access, lock your computer when you are away from your workstation. [CTRL-ALT-DEL] • Personal or professional mobile technology that is used to send or receive email must be password protected to maintain confidentiality in a case of loss or theft. • Ensure that NO confidential information (such as student IEP’s or sensitive District data is stored on a portable device) Any attempt to alter data, the configuration of equipment, or the files of another, will be considered an act of vandalism/hacking and disciplinary action and/or legal action can be taken.
