Jury/Court Duty. Temporary duty with pay will be granted to an employee who is summoned to serve on a jury, subpoenaed to appear at a legal proceeding as a witness, if he is required by law to attend, or to make appearance in any court proceeding resulting from activities relating to the employee's employment with the school district. Such leave must be requested and approved in advance. An employee who is excused from such service, prior to the end of the working day will be expected to return, when practical, to duty for the balance of the working day. In no case shall temporary duty with pay be granted for court attendance when an employee is engaged in his/her personal litigation.
Jury/Court Duty. The Board of Education shall pay a full-time employee, including hourly and per diem employees, the difference between such employee's regular compensation and remuneration received for serving as a juror. The Board will provide a substitute teacher(s) when a teacher is serving as a juror, witness, defendant, complainant, or as a witness in any proceeding for which a subpoena is issued as a result of their employment in the district. Jury/Court Duty. Any employees called for jury duty during working hours or who are subpoenaed to appear in court, shall be paid his/her full salary, less any per diem compensation received for such services, and suffer no loss of benefit or contractual advantage. Per Diem compensation shall not include mileage reimbursement, if any, received by the employee.
