Advisor Responsibilities. Advisor agrees that it will handle Client’s business hereunder in a strictly professional and ethical manner, utilizing its best efforts and skill on behalf of Client; Advisor has made no guarantee that client will obtain a particular business credit score or guarantee regarding a specific cash dollar amount of credit a client will obtain. All expressions made by Advisor relative to the matters discussed in this Paragraph previous or following the execution of this Agreement by the Client and Advisor are the Advisor’s sincere opinion only. However, if the Client has not been extended at least $50,000 in TOTAL credit (any combination of vendor credit, trade credit, equipment lease, vehicle lease, loans, lines of credit, credit cards, real estate pre-approvals, etc), Client may elect at any time to receive an additional twelve (12) months of advising from the Advisor.
Advisor Responsibilities. 7 Minimum responsibilities for club/activity advisor to be outlined annually to include number of meeting 8 days, activities, etc. These responsibilities will be listed on the Annual Co-Curricular Planning and 9 Accomplishment Form for each activity. This form will be shared with the ASB Advisor or Principal if 10 related to a class, at the beginning of the year or activity. 11
Advisor Responsibilities. It is important that advisors understand the responsibilities involved before making a commitment to the Student Organization that they plan on advising. Those responsibilities include: • Maintain an awareness of the activities and programs sponsored by the student organization • Meet with leaders and officers to discuss upcoming meetings and programs, long range plans, goals, and problem solving • Attend general and executive board meetings as often as possible • Assist the organization’s Treasurer in monitoring and adhering to the budget • Assist with officer transition and new officer training • Maintain contact with Student Involvement and Leadership • Explain and clarify College policies and procedures that apply to the organization • Talk with the organization regarding appropriate behavior on the part of the members and possible consequences of unacceptable behavior • Maintain the ability to deal with the same issues each year and remain fresh Organization’s Responsibilities to the Advisor • Officers and leadership must notify the advisor of all meetings and events • Consult him/her in the planning of projects and events • Consult him/her before any changes in the structure of the group, or in the policies of the organization are made, and before major projects are undertaken • Allow the advisor speaking privileges although he/she is not allowed a vote • Be aware that the success or failure of the organization and its events rest on the members of the organization itself, not the advisor • Discuss concerns and issues with the advisor • Acknowledge the advisor’s time and energy are donated, and express appreciation • Be clear and open about expectations of advisor and periodically evaluate the advisor I, hereby agree to assume the role of advisor for Name of Advisor in accordance with the guidelines listed above. All expressions made by Advisor relative to the matters discussed in this Paragraph previous or following the execution of this Agreement by the Client and Advisor are the Advisor's sincere opinion only. However, if the Client has not been extended at least $50,000 in TOTAL credit (any combination of vendor credit, trade credit, equipment lease, vehicle lease, loans, lines of credit, credit cards, real estate pre-approvals, etc), Client may elect at any time to receive an additional twelve (12) months of advising from the Advisor at no additional cost except for elective costs as set forth above. Advisor will also treat any information provided to Advisor with care and will not release any such information to third parties (other than parties providing products or services under the elective expense provisions above, or directly related to establishing a credit score, or credit relationships, as described herein without the permission of Client.
Advisor Responsibilities a) Advisors are responsible for continuously following and assisting the student’s progress in order to ensure adherence to the schedules and modifying them when necessary. The schedules must take into account any additional responsibilities and teaching assignments. Meetings with at least one of the advisors should take place at least once a month; group meetings with all participating advisors should take place at least once a semester. Advising responsibilities until completion of the project remain independent of the duration of financial support for the dissertation.

The advisor is responsible for overall supervision of the student’s graduate education, is expected to facilitate the student’s participation in all aspects of the program, and should file an annual report on the student’s progress. These responsibilities include providing financial support*, either directly from laboratory research funds, or indirectly via the advisor’s Department. (Off-campus advisors or their institution are responsible for all normal costs of graduate education and research, and must ensure that resources are available to satisfy the requirements of the student’s offer letter). Advisor responsibilities (for students with off campus co-advisors): All students whose advisor is not a Regular Member of the UM Graduate Faculty (an “off campus” advisor) are required to have a University of Maryland (“on-campus”) advisor. The on campus advisor is termed the student’s “Advisor” and the off campus advisor is termed the “co-advisor,” according to Graduate School definitions. The on campus advisor is the student’s primary point of contact for University- and Program-specific requirements and opportunities, and is expected to maintain a current knowledge of the student’s progress toward degree, and should work with student and advisor to ensure that all degree requirements are satisfied. The on campus advisor is not financially responsible for the student. For the academic year, tuition costs are outlined by the Office of Student Financial Services and Cashiering, with the student assured up to 10 credits of tuition remission per semester. Students supported on campus as RAs or TAs pay in state tuition. Benefits vary depending upon the plan chosen by the student. Unless specifically provided for by an inter-institution MOU, graduate students with an off-campus advisor are not automatically assured a teaching assistantship, but must receive the support indicated in their letter
