All Students. If a student fails to occupy his/her room after January 3, 2018; the room may be reassigned if proper notice is not given to Campus Housing that the student will arrive late. A student who enrolls in classes and fails to occupy his/her assigned room will be responsible for paying the full housing fee for the space. All rights will be forfeited if the assigned student does not timely occupy the space, as required above. a) The only reasons a student will be released from the housing contract after January 3, 2018 (1) Withdrawal/Transfer from College of Charleston (2) Leave of Absence from College of Charleston (3) Graduation from the College of Charleston (4) Academically ineligible to return (5) Study Abroad/National Exchange (6) Full-time Internship outside of Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties (7) Marriage b) Students must notify Campus Housing in writing if they are cancelling the housing contract for one of the seven reasons stated above. If the student has checked into the residence halls, the housing fees will be prorated based on the date that the student checks out of his/her residence hall and returns the residence hall room key. If the student does not check into the residence halls and it is after opening day, a cancellation penalty of $200 will be charged to the student’s eBill account. c) If a student is released from the contract for one of the above reasons (ex. withdrawal) and then re-enrolls at the College during the term of the contract, the College will require the student to be financially liable for housing fees during the agreement period. The College will hold the student liable for payment of the full housing fee, which is payment for both Fall and Spring semesters, if the student does not cancel the contract in writing by the dates stated above or is not granted release for one of the seven reasons stated above. d) Students who wish to request a release from the housing contract after January 3, 2018 and who do not meet one of the seven criteria stated above may submit a letter and any legally viable supporting documents or evidence to support his/her claim to be released from the contract to the Campus Housing Contract Release Committee. Leasing an apartment off campus is not an argument or justification to be released from the housing contract. Students will not be released for this reason. All Students. I understand that to break this student agreement may mean I have to stop attending RCS lessons and classes for a period of time, which could ultimately lead to the discontinuation of my studies at the RCS.
All Students. Any child who leaves the school grounds without permission violates school policy and will be subject to disciplinary action. Parental support is expected. Students who do not correct inappropriate behavior will be counseled by teacher, administration and parents. If the results show no change in the behavior of the student, parents will be asked to remove their child from school. The school reserves the right to inspect all property. This includes school lockers and backpacks. BICYCLES – ROLLER BLADES No bicycle riding is allowed on school grounds. Students entering and leaving school property must be off the bicycle and walk it to the bike racks where all bicycles must be parked. Students should wear a bike helmet for safety. All bicycles should have locks. The school is not responsible for damage or theft of bicycles. Bicycle registration with the police is encouraged. Student will probably be courteous riders and respect the property of homeowners. Rules Of The Road should be followed. Once winter begins, no bicycle riding is allowed. All bicycle riders must ride single file so traffic may pass. Skateboarding and rollerblading are not allowed on school property. We ask parents NOT to send their children to school on skateboards or rollerblades for safety reasons. We enjoy celebrating many "Special Days,” and birthdays and other celebrations. If a child's birthday is in the summer, we will celebrate their half year birthdates. Notification will be sent home with all the details (date, number of treats, etc.) for summer birthday celebrations. Parents will also be notified of any other special events. They will be asked to help out by sending something such as napkins, cups, plates, treats, etc. sometime throughout the year for our "Special Days.” Some of these "Special Days" are Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc.

Notice of cancellation to Admissions, Financial Aid, Fiscal Services or Registrar’s office does not constitute notice of cancellation of this Agreement.
