Tuition Remission. (A) Employees Employees are eligible for tuition remission for credit hours at the undergraduate and graduate levels as follows:

Tuition Remission. (a) Full-time employees employed within the Bargaining Unit described in Article 3 of the Agreement and, with the employee's written consent, their dependent(s) and spouse are eligible for free tuition for credit courses approved by the Senate of the University of Windsor. Dependents are defined as children of the employee, not over the age of twenty-six (26), for whom the employee provides regular financial support.
Tuition Remission. Children and spouses of bargaining unit members shall be granted remission for instructional fees at YSU, including out-of-state instructional fees where applicable. “Children” for the purpose of tuition remission are the biological children, legally adopted children, or step-children of a bargaining unit employee or children for which the employee has been granted a legal guardianship. Bargaining unit employees must provide any information requested by the University such as copies of marriage licenses, birth certificates, legal guardianship and certificates of adoption to assist the University in determining that the child or spouse is eligible for tuition remission. Bargaining unit employees must also properly complete the University’s application/affidavit in order to receive tuition remission. Children shall be eligible for remission to the end of the academic year in which they reach age twenty-five (25). Bargaining unit members shall receive remission of instructional and general fees at YSU, including out-of-state fees where applicable, for up to eighteen (18) semester hours per academic year and six (6) semester hours each summer. Remission of the general fee shall be granted to members of the bargaining unit only. Bargaining unit members who retire during the term of this Agreement shall continue to be eligible for the fee remission described above, and their children and spouse shall continue to be eligible for remission of instructional fees. Children of an employee who dies are eligible for fee remission of instructional and general fees until the end of the academic year during which they reach age twenty-five (25). However, a step-child of an employee who dies is only eligible for fee remission as long as the surviving spouse of the deceased employee remains unmarried. A surviving spouse of a deceased employee is eligible for fee remission as long as they remain unmarried.

Tuition Remission. The following tuition remission provisions shall be of application during the term of this Agreement. The parties agree to continue in effect the present policy of the Board of Higher Education, acting through the Commissioner, regarding tuition remission applicable to all unit members, their spouses and dependent children. Such policy shall provide for full tuition remission in all institutions of public higher education in the Commonwealth exclusive of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and shall, additionally, make provision for fifty percent (50%) tuition remission in courses in continuing education.
Tuition Remission. Laid off employees and their dependents shall be able to continue receiving tuition benefits for the semester in which the layoff occurs plus one additional semester following the effective date of the layoff.
Tuition Remission. The parties recognize the importance of Tuition Remission. Tuition Remission shall be available to bargaining unit members, their spouses and dependent children consistent with applicable University System and University policies. Any changes in Tuition Remission, as set forth in this Section, by the University shall be subject to applicable law under the State Higher Education Labor Relations Act.
