Transfer Out of Bargaining Unit. Employees shall not be transferred or promoted out of the bargaining unit without their consent. Such employees shall retain the seniority they have acquired up to the date of leaving the unit, but shall not continue to accumulate seniority for periods of service outside the unit. When an employee is transferred or promoted out of the bargaining unit, s/he shall retain the right to return for a period of twelve (12) months and upon returning, s/he shall bump into a position consistent with her/his previously accumulated seniority, with the relative qualifications, experience, skill and ability on the basis of Section 15:04, provided such position is not higher than her/his former bargaining unit position. Junior employees displaced as a result shall likewise be eligible to bump.

If such employee later returns to a vacant position in the bargaining unit, the employee will accumulate seniority from the date of returning to the bargaining unit. This additional seniority shall be added to the employee’s previously accumulated seniority.

On completion of the temporary work outside the bargaining unit the employee shall return to their bargaining unit position.
