Common use of Transfer Out of Bargaining Unit Clause in Contracts

Transfer Out of Bargaining Unit. If an employee accepts a temporary position with Holland College outside the bargaining unit, the employee shall retain their seniority but shall not continue to accumulate seniority while occupying the temporary position. On completion of the temporary work outside the bargaining unit the employee shall return to their bargaining unit position. The employee’s previously accumulated seniority will be added to seniority accumulated from the date of returning to their bargaining unit positions provided that the absence from the bargaining unit does not exceed twelve (12) months.
