Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. If we make available offers and products online where a child informs us that he or she is under the age of 13, we will ask a parent to confirm his/her consent in advance of further collection, use or disclosure of personal information from that child. You should be aware, however, that wireless devices and services purchased for family use may be used by minors without the knowledge of AT&T. If that happens, any information collected from the usage will appear to be the personal information of the actual adult subscriber and treated as such under this Policy.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Under the provisions of COPPA all commercial websites must get prior consent before children under the age of 13 are permitted to share any personal information about themselves or are permitted to use any interactive communication technologies where they would be able to share personal information with others. CISD uses a Digital Resource Approval Process to verify COPPA compliance before use of online services by students under 13. Both students in this age group and their teachers will be educated as to the provisions of the law and the Acceptable Use Guidelines. Students under the age of 13 may not visit any websites that collect personal information unless it is for curricular reasons and is under the direction or supervision of a staff member of CISD. A list of resources used for curriculum and instruction can be found on the CISD website. Consequences for inappropriate use Noncompliance with applicable regulations will result in a) suspension of access to CISD technology resources; b) revocation of account; c) disciplinary action consistent with CISD policies and regulations. (See CISD Student Code of Conduct, Policy BBI, CQ and DH,, Employee Standards of Conduct Code of Ethics and Standard Practice for Texas Educators). Violations of law may result in criminal prosecutions as well as disciplinary action by CISD. Violating any of these rules can result in a disciplinary action. The nature of the violation will determine the appropriate disciplinary action on a case-by-case basis. If our Institutions choose to use the Symphony Classroom Solution in environments with Participants under age 13 or otherwise under the age of consent in their country, we ask the Institution to obtain any necessary prior, verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that a minor Participant has provided us with, or we have otherwise collected, Personal Information without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it and comply with other applicable COPPA obligations.
