Focuses on enhancing students' skills in the target language, acquiring and using complex grammatical structures and vocabulary, improving their discourse-related skills, as well as engaging learners in real-life tasks that allow them to use Persian to write/talk about issues specific to Islamic culture and history. Prerequisite: PERS 342 or instructor's permission. PERS 601 Modern Persian Literature (3): Selected readings in Persian poetry, fiction, and drama covering topics related to contemporary Iranian society and culture. Taught in Persian. Prerequisite: department permission. PERS 611 Practicum in Persian/English Translation (3 credits): Analysis and translation into English of literary and expository Persian texts. Focus on interdependence of language, context and culture. Taught in Persian. Prerequisite: department permission. PERS 641 Iranian Media and International Relations (3 credits): Covers the political interests and diplomatic positions of Iran in the contemporary international context as reflected in its print and electronic media. Taught in Persian. Prerequisite: department permission. PERS 689 Special topics in Persian Language Studies (3 credits): An in-depth analysis of a particular aspect of Persian language studies. Topic to be announced when course is offered. Repeatable to 6 credits if content differs. Taught in Persian. Prerequisite: department permission.

Required Courses HLTH 688 V - Public Health Information Systems (3 credits) Public health information systems relate to the employment of technology, planning and management, and applications in health care and public health. The emphasis is on conceptual frameworks as well as a deeper level of engagement on system applications. This is not a course in computer programming; rather the main focus is on the application of technology, with a particular emphasis on the private/public sector of health management. The course is designed to familiarize students with core concepts & issues confronting health managers and practitioners in planning, implementation and evaluation of information systems. HLTH 688 U - Geographic Information Systems in Public Health Surveillance (3 credits) Geographic Information Systems provide essential support for public health preparedness, response and surveillance. The two major GIS key components are informatics approaches to conducting health surveillance using technologies, and GIS applications in health care and public health. The course is designed to familiarize students with core concepts & applications confronting health managers in planning, implementation and evaluation of geographic information systems. HLTH 688 W - Information Management for Public Health Professionals (3 credits) Health information management is concerned with the collection, storage, presentation and interpretation of health data. This curriculum covers concepts, case study, and applications of informatics in health care and public health. The main focus is on the application of technology, with a particular emphasis on the public context of health management. Required Courses ENRE 684 Information Security (3 credits) This course is divided into three major components: overview, detailed concepts and implementation techniques. The topics to be covered are: general security concerns and concepts from both a technical and management point of view, principles of security, architectures, access control and multi-level security, trojan horses, covert channels, trap doors, hardware security mechanism, security models, security kernels, formal specifications and verification, networks and distribution systems and risk analysis. PUAF 711 Public Management and Leadership (3 credits) Reviews the managerial, political, and ethical problems faced by public sector managers and leaders, including setting an organization's goals, obtaining and protecting a program mandate, designing a service delivery system and implementing a new program. INFO 711 Financial Management of Information Projects (3 credits) This course expands on the financial management of information projects. IT Project Management or equivalent work experience is a prerequisite. Topics include developing the project budget based on the project plan, understanding work breakdown structures and scheduling techniques, earned value, tracking and reporting project costs, risk management, best practices, and cost/benefit analysis.

Selection of a candidate by is not a guarantee that the candidate will be granted admission to LIU or the [Dual] Degree Program. Candidates will be held to the same rigorous admissions standards as other applicants, and final decisions will be solely at the discretion of LIU and . Admissions Criteria. We provide care and support to children with special educational needs and disabilities. We recognise that many children may come to us without a formal diagnosis, therefore our criteria is that children attending benefit from a high level of support, from our specialist practitioners. On occasions children may attend the Centre and we are not the most appropriate setting, in these instances we will have a discussion with the parent and/ or carer and help to support transition into a more suitable setting. This to ensure that our service reaches the children most in need.
Admissions Criteria. First year AS students at the Xxxxxx County Community College will be conditionally admitted to this RN to BSN Express Plus Degree Program at Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx University. As long as they have the required GPA for admittance at the time of completing the associate’s degree or diploma and an RN license, they will be accepted into the RN to BSN program. This opportunity offers students a clear academic pathway to the Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx University BS in Nursing, with “peace of mind” in knowing that all of their credits will transfer and that they will have a jump-start on their MSN. To be eligible to transfer into the RN to BSN, students must have graduated from Xxxxxx County Community College with an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing and have earned at least sixty (60) credits. Students will be required to complete the last thirty (30) credits for the BSN at WP, either online or in-person. An Elementary Statistics class is required prior to taking NUR 3500 (Nursing Research) at WP. Students may choose to complete this at Xxxxxx County Community College or at WP. If students choose to take an Elementary Statistics class at WP, these three (3) credits would be in addition to the thirty (30) WP credits required for the bachelor’s degree in nursing. Students will follow all standard procedures for application, including requesting and submitting all official transcripts listing prior college credits earned from each institution they attended. WP requires all original transcripts to ensure that students obtain the maximum amount of transfer credit possible. Simultaneous Undergraduate/Graduate Credit Significantly, while working on the BSN degree at Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx University, the student can simultaneously earn twelve (12) credits towards a Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx University Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) at the undergraduate tuition rate. These credits will count towards both a BSN and MSN. Students are encouraged to pursue the MSN at Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx University if they obtained a grade of B or higher in the 12 graduate credits and achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
