A OVERTIME. Effective the first day of the second pay-period after commencement of this Agreement, the Provisions of Article 11-A shall become null, void, and be completely superseded by the provisions of Article 11-B.
A OVERTIME. SECTION 18.1. Full-time bargaining unit members shall be compensated at straight time for all hours in paid status, except that any hours in excess of thirty-six (36) or forty (40) hours in any week, based upon their assigned work schedule, shall be compensated at a rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee’s regular rate of pay. Overtime shall be prior approved by the Director, or his designee unless an emergency exists that requires immediate response.
A OVERTIME. 1. All time worked in excess of a regularly scheduled shift in one day shall be compensated at a rate of one and one half (11/2) times the regular base salary and longevity pay. Compensation for overtime shall be in either pay or compensatory time at the officer's discretion at a rate on one and one half-hour for one hour worked. Regular Rate of Pay: Determination of regular rate of pay for the purpose of complying with FLSA requires that certain types of salary increments be included with the base rate when computing the regular rate of hourly pay for overtime purposes. These increments are priority shift differential, and stand-by pay, as applicable. Assignment of Overtime: The Chief of Police or his/her designee shall be responsible for determining if police officer attendance is necessary on an open duty shift. To staff an open duty shift, the Chief of Police or his designee shall seek volunteers among the department police officers and select an appropriate number. If no police officer chooses to take the assignment under the above Section, the Chief or his/her designee shall be free to assign the least senior bargaining unit member to the assignment or to assign another sworn employee to cover the assignment. The members recognize that change in shift assignment may be necessary in order to replace officers who are absent or to meet operational needs. If a change in shift assignment is required, the affected officer shall be provided as much prior notice as possible. No member shall be allowed, except in cases of emergencies as determined by the Chief of Police or his/her designee, to work two (2) consecutive, full ten (10) hour work shifts. Nothing in this agreement shall be construed to limit the Police Chief or his/her designee’s right to assign work to members, including shift assignments.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Weekly Overtime An Employee required to work in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) for the first eight (8) hours of work in excess of the forty (40) hours and double time thereafter.

  • Planned Overtime In making planned overtime assignments the Employer shall first assign overtime on an equal opportunity basis according to each section’s procedure (Schedule E), as agreed to by the parties. Such overtime shall be assigned to employees who are actively on the payroll and who have indicated their willingness to accept overtime assignments according to section procedures and who are:

  • Holiday Overtime An employee required to work on any of the above-named holidays will be paid holiday pay plus payment for the number of hours worked at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) his regular straight time rate of pay.

  • Banked Overtime In the event the day in lieu of working the statutory holiday is not provided as stipulated in 8.01.04, this portion may also be banked.

  • Payment of Overtime 5.5.1 Subject to the provisions of this sub-clause, all work performed outside of the ordinary hours of any day, Monday to Friday, inclusive, will be paid for at the rate of time and one half for the first 2 hours and double time thereafter. Casual Employees will be entitled to the appropriate all- purpose penalty rates and their 25% casual loading as identified in clause 2.1.2.

  • Mandatory Overtime Mandatory overtime shall be scheduled 2 weeks in advance of the scheduled event (or as soon as possible after the overtime is known to management.) If there are unforeseen circumstances, the two week requirement will not apply. Where the notice of mandatory overtime is not provided in that time frame, the hours worked will be paid at twice the regular rate. If a member has checked with the Director of Public Safety or designee about a certain date as being a mandatory day, and received a negative answer, that employee shall be waived from any mandatory obligation of the day inquired about. If a staff member has extenuating circumstances occurring on a mandatory overtime day, they may request a release from the mandatory overtime day from the Director of Public Safety, or designee. The employee shall meet with the Director of Public Safety, or designee, to discuss the extenuating circumstance. The Director of Public Safety, or designee, shall respond to the staff member’s request as soon as possible.

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • Overtime Pay a) A casual employee shall be entitled to overtime pay in accordance with Article 27.05 in the following circumstances:
