BY PAY. An employee who is required to “stand-by” for possible re-call to work shall receive two (2) hours pay at their regular rate of pay for each stand-by period of twenty-four (24) hours or fraction thereof (Example: one (1) to twenty-four (24) hours = two (2) hours pay; twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours = four (4) hours pay). Employees placed on stand-by status shall provide management with a telephone number where they can be reached during the stand-by period. If the employee changes locations during the stand-by period, they shall provide management with the new number where they can be reached. Employees who have been placed on stand-by status who management cannot reach at the number provided, or are unable to report when reached, shall be subject to disciplinary action. Stand-by pay does not count as hours worked for the purpose of overtime computation.

BY PAY. Any member of the Fire Prevention Division who is required to stand-by shall receive one (1) hour's pay at straight time rates for nights falling on Mondays through Fridays. When a scheduled sailing of a vessel is delayed because of mechanical problems (problems related to hull and machinery, navigation and fish finding aids), refit except- ed, the Company will pay, at the commencement of the next calendar day, the crewmembers who were available for the scheduled sailing, up to a maximum of three (3) days’ stand-by pay at the rate of fifty dollars ($50.00) per day prorated to the nearest hour, effective November fifty-two dollars ($52.00) per day prorated to the nearest hour. When a vessel sails and returns to port within two (72) hours due to mechanical problems (problems related to hull and machinery, navigation and fish finding aids) and the crew is released, the Company will pay at the commencement of the next calendar day up to a maximum of three (3) days at the rate of fifty dollars ($50.00) per day prorated to the nearest hour, effective November fifty-two dollars ($52.00)per day prorated to the nearest hour. In order to qualify for payment under and crewmembers must be available to sail and sail on the resche- duled sailing time, provided such rescheduling takes place wi- thin fourteen (14) days of the original tie-up.
