P rofessional Development. Annual training shall be provided for support staff on dates to be determined by the Superintendent, which may include institute days and other student non-attendance days. Topics for training will based on the needs of each specific job category including but not limited to professional development and training as required by the Illinois State Board of Education. Additional topics identified by staff response to an annual survey will be considered. Training and professional development for support staff shall occur on opening institute day and at other times during the school year as scheduled. Through surveys, employees shall provide input for the planning of their in-service on institute days. Every effort shall be made to provide a training that is specific to each respective job category.
P rofessional Development. The principals are expected to continue their professional development of the knowledge and skills necessary to be stronger educational leaders. The Superintendent may require principals to attend seminars, courses and professional meetings. With the approval of the Superintendent, principals may also participate in such meetings, conferences, courses and other activities that serve the purpose of professional development. The School Committee will pay expenses including fees, meals, lodging, transportation and other reasonable costs for any professional development activities directed and approved by the Superintendent. The School Committee will pay the cost of any in-service courses sponsored by the School Committee. Principals will be reimbursed 50% of the cost of tuition for courses taken at accredited colleges and universities, up to a maximum of $1000 per year, provided approval has been obtained by the Superintendent prior to enrollment.
P rofessional Development. The Company will consider requests for limited time off to attend courses or approved professional development costs, to a maximum of $150 a calendar year, shall be made by the Employer upon the employee submitting a satisfactory receipt or invoice from the educational/training organization. Notwithstanding the above paragraph, the Employer reserves the right to send an employee to an educational program which the Employer in its sole discretion decides is necessary to the performance of the position. The employee shall not suffer any loss of regular straight time pay during such attendance and the course shall be paid by the Employer.
P rofessional Development. Training sessions will be mandatory for all employees assigned to attend by the Director of Food Services. Two weeks’ notice will be provided for training sessions scheduled beyond the regularly scheduled hours. Employees will be compensated for their time. Those employees missing two or more consecutive training sessions may be required to present a doctor's certificate at the discretion of the Director of Food Services in order to receive pay for the work day of the training session.
P rofessional Development. The City agrees, subject to budgeting constraints, to budget for and to pay the Employee’s professional dues and subscriptions necessary for continuation and full participation in national, regional, state and local professional associations and organizations, and chapters thereof, of which Employee is currently a member or expected to be a member because of the position as City Manager, and for other suitable and desirable expenses for Employee’s continued professional participation, growth, and advancement, and for the good of the City, as the City Council deems appropriate. These associations and organizations include, but are not limited to the annual conferences of the International and Arizona City/County Management Associations, the Arizona League of Cities and Towns and such other national, regional, state and local government groups and committees thereof for which Employee serves as a member. These benefits shall not be included as a portion of the severance pay under Section 6(a) below.
P rofessional Development. A. The Executive Director may grant permission with or without pay to educators to attend professional development opportunities. NDSEC may also provide for the reimbursement of expenses incurred. The granting or withholding of such permission shall be within the sole discretion of the Executive Director and shall be non-precedential with respect to any other request for such permission by such educator or by any other educator or employee. If approval to attend professional development activities is denied, a written explanation will be provided to the educator by the Executive Director within 14 days of the request.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Professional Development Plan Professional Development Plan (PDP) refers to plans developed by faculty members addressing the criteria contained in Article 22 and Appendix G.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness.   • Continuing Professional Development The Official Agency shall provide appropriate training for staff performing official controls, enabling them to undertake their duties competently and to carry out official controls in a consistent manner, as per legislative requirements. The Official Agency shall identify training needs for staff performing official controls and ensure that staff carrying out official controls are kept up to date in their area of competence and develop specialised expertise, in partnership with the Authority and other Local Authorities. While the provision of training is the primary responsibility of the Official Agency, the Authority may provide training interventions where the Official Agency has highlighted areas where training is required. The Authority will endeavour to facilitate networking and collaboration with other Official Agencies to assist in improving knowledge in such areas. The Authority will provide e-learning resources and training for official control staff so as to promote a consistent understanding and application of new legislation, guidance or procedures, as appropriate. The Official Agency shall support participants in using e-learning resources, disseminating knowledge or skills acquired and encourage the application of learning gained through the Authority’s training in official control activities. The Official Agency shall ensure that contractors used in the performance of the Service Contract provide evidence of Continuous Professional Development and Compliance with this section. Where staff from the Official Agency need to travel outside the Official Agency functional area to attend training courses/meetings, this shall be facilitated by the Official Agency. The Official Agency in partnership with the Authority shall develop and implement training programmes for all staff engaged in the performance of the Service Contract. Where staff have participated in Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) the training content shall be disseminated to relevant staff/contractors in the Official Agency and other local authorities in partnership with the Authority.

  • Professional Development Day The Employees shall be entitled to spend three (3) working days with pay for the purpose of doing research and preparation related to their work at a date mutually acceptable to the Employer and the Employee.

  • Professional Development Days Upon request, each Employee shall be granted at least three (3) professional development days annually for professional development, at the Basic Rate of Pay. An Employee shall be advised, prior to taking any professional development days of any transportation, registration fees, subsistence and other expenses that will be paid by the Employer. Such hours not used in each fiscal year shall not be carried forward into subsequent years. Applications for such paid professional development opportunities shall be made in writing, to the Employer as early as possible.

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. Any unused balances in these funds shall carry over to the next budget year.
