Training and Professional Development. 11.1 The Employer will develop and maintain an employee training and development plan and provide such plan to the Union upon request. Staff training is intended to provide an opportunity for classified staff employees for training sponsored by the University Training and Development and the UW Medical Centers Organizational Development and Training. Education/Professional Leave is intended to facilitate employee access to continuing education opportunities. Training and educational/professional leave may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing staff for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities within the framework of staff positions available at the University.
11.2 Any release time for training for employees accepted for such classes shall be in accordance with the Executive Order (currently No. 52) governing this matter. In the event that two or more employees request the same training period and supervision must limit the number of persons who may participate at one time due to work requirements, the selection will be made on a mutually agreeable basis within the department.
11.3 The training program is a proper subject for discussion by either departmental or University-wide Joint Union/Management Committees.
11.4 If the Employer requires an employee to receive training, reimbursement will be provided in accordance with the University travel rules. Employee attendance at Employer required training, either during or outside working hours, will be considered time worked and compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.
11.5 Employee attendance at training not required by the Employer and not covered by Executive Order 52, either on approved leave from or outside of working hours, will be voluntary and not considered time worked.
Training and Professional Development. Maintain written program procedures covering these six (6) core activities. All procedures shall be consistent with the requirements of this Contract.
Training and Professional Development. 1. The Employer is responsible for establishing orientation and in-service training programs for all Employees. Such programs shall, at a minimum, provide training in the teaching of subject matter, an introduction to course goals, grading criteria and practices, and classroom procedures. Employees shall, as part of their regular duties, participate in such programs.
2. While such programs are important for all Employees, attendance will not be required for any Employee who is determined by the employing unit already to have the skills and experience equivalent to those provided in the program.
3. The Employer shall consider Employee input and participation in developing training programs. Employing units will consider Employee requests for additional training.
4. To gain feedback and increase Employees’ effectiveness, employing units and the Graduate College will be encouraged to provide avenues for professional development at no cost to the Employee. Such avenues may include mentorship in pedagogy and class observation by faculty and/or peers.
5. If required training occurs during the defined work period of an Employee’s employment, then time spent in training will be included as part of the hourly total in the Employee’s workload. If required training occurs before the defined work period of an Employee’s employment, the Employee will be compensated in salary at the hourly equivalent of the Employee’s rate. Given a timely request by the Employee, the Employer will provide housing, if available, at the customary rates, to be paid by the Employer for Employees who attend training prior to the first day of the defined work period of an Employee’s employment.
6. Employees will not be required to pay for mandatory training sessions.
7. Upon request, the Employer agrees to meet with representatives of the Union, under the auspices of Article 16, to receive input, comments and suggestions relating to the need for specific training programs, the content of programs offered or programs to be considered for development. In such meetings the Employer agrees to arrange for participation of members of the University community with appropriate expertise.
Training and Professional Development. 2.6.1 Te Kura recognises the importance of training and professional development and appropriate provision will be available in line with the current Learning and Development framework, policy and procedures.
2.6.2 Appropriate provision may include the granting of leave with or without pay in accordance with clause 6.9

The parties agree to utilize the Joint Labor Management Committee for Training and Development (JL-MCTD) established in MOU 36 for the period this MOU is effective. The JL-MCTD will be responsible for developing and approving training programs for unit members and allocating the professional development funds provided in MOU 36. Training and Professional Development o The University will provide the United States with the training materials and agendas to be used in the trainings conducted pursuant to Sections V.A by May 30, 2013, and Sections V.B and V.C by July 15, 2013. The University will also provide information describing the expertise and experience with regard to Title IX of the person or persons conducting the training pursuant to Sections V.B and V.C of this Agreement. If the United States chooses to provide comments on the proposed training or trainers, it will do so within 45 days of receipt of the materials. o By December 31, 2013, May 31, 2014, May 31, 2015, and December 31, 2015, the University will provide the United States with the sign-in sheets of each employee by name and job title for each training required by Sections V.A, V.B, and V.C. of this Agreement, and a list of any University employee who failed to participate in such training by name and title.
Training and Professional Development. 18.1 The TAFE Commission confirms a commitment to training and development for Xxxxxxxxx College Employees. The Employees recognise their obligation to maintain and update skills.
18.2 The Director shall, following consultation with the Employees, develop a training plan for the College which will take into account the individual training needs of Teachers as identified by the annual review as provided for by subclause 17.1.

The District and Association recognize the basic purpose of training and professional development is successful job performance and the effective operation of the total school system. To meet that purpose, specific training and professional development will be designed and provided to meet the needs of Employees.
Training and Professional Development. The team agrees to investigate a number of professional development and training issues including: establishing a partnership with the Pinellas County Education Foundation and local education institutions to create scholarships for educational support professionals; offering flexible scheduling for support professionals returning to school; revising the support services job posting application form to reflect training; providing alternative delivery models such as distance learning and career ladder training opportunities.
