Health and Safety Committees. In order to provide a safe and healthful workplace, principal unit level LMC's shall establish Health and Safety Committees where they do not already exist and at the request of the Union. Each committee will be composed of an equal number of representatives appointed by the Union and the Employer and will be co-chaired by a Union and Employer representative. A Union representative must be a member of the unit but either party may be accompanied by staff and/or other subject matter experts who may participate, but not vote, at meetings. Each party shall prepare and submit an agenda to the other party one week prior to any scheduled meeting. If neither party submits an agenda, the meeting shall be canceled. Each committee's general responsibility will be to provide a safe and healthful workplace by recognizing hazards and recommending the abatement of hazards and educational programs. Each committee will:
Health and Safety Committees. The Agencies and the Union shall establish Labor/Management Health and Safety Committees. Each Agency shall have a Health and Safety Committee. This committee may be combined with the Agency Labor/Management Committee upon mutual agreement of Agency Management and the Union. In each Agency that operates with institutions/geographic districts or regions, there shall be a Health and Safety Committee per institution/geographic district or region, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon. Unless mutually agreed otherwise each committee shall be composed of no more than three (3) representatives appointed by the Employer and three (3) employees appointed by the Union and shall be co-chaired by a Union and an Employer representative. Each facility operated by Agencies required to meet health and safety standards established by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHCO) or the Accreditations Council for Services for MRDD (AC MRDD) and/or the Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement programs shall have one (1) Health and Safety Committee. The committees shall be chaired by the Agency designee. In addition to the Health and Safety Committee membership required by the JCAHCO or the AC MRDD and/or Medicaid/Medicare, the Union shall appoint two (2) representatives to serve on the committee within thirty (30) days after the effective date of this Agreement. The general responsibility of all the committees will be to provide a safe and healthful workplace by recognizing hazards and recommending abatement of hazards and recommending education programs. To fulfill this responsibility the committees shall:
Health and Safety Committees. A. The parties agree that Joint Union/Management Health and Safety Committees are appropriate. At the Union's request, each department shall establish at least one Joint Union/Management Health and Safety Committee.
Health and Safety Committees. A. The parties agree that Joint CAPS/Management Health and Safety Committees are appropriate in many areas of State employment. At CAPS request, each department shall establish at least one Joint CAPS/Management Health and Safety Committee. Additional Joint CAPS/Management Health and Safety Committees may be established as appropriate for the larger departments.
Health and Safety Committees. In the following agencies, each institution having five (5) or more employees shall have a Health and Safety Committee to recommend those actions and procedures necessary to ensure that the Employer is in compliance with all appropriate health and safety rules and regulations: Ohio State School for the Blind Ohio School for the Deaf Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Department of Youth Services State Library of Ohio The Association shall appoint one (1) representative to serve on each committee. No agreement may be reached on any matter that would alter in any way the terms of this Agreement. The committees will meet and schedule a meeting at least once each calendar year and minutes of said meetings will be made available to employees. The committees will attempt to resolve issues raised. Such committees will be comprised of other bargaining representatives where applicable. Employees who are Committee Members will be paid base rate of pay for attendance at such meetings. In no event shall reimbursement exceed the employeesregular daily rate of pay. All meetings will be held during normal business hours.
Health and Safety Committees. Health and Safety Committees with joint Union and Management participation shall be established in each non-institutional agency. Such committees shall have an equal number of Management and Union representatives. In each institutional agency whose employees are covered by this Agreement, a Health and Safety Committee shall be established at each institution or facility, which Committees shall be comprised of an equal number of Union and management representatives. Pursuant to the mutual agreement of the State and all Unions certified to represent employees in any agency or institution, the above committees may be established as multi-Union committees composed of such representatives as the State and participating Unions may mutually agree. In addition, pursuant to the mutual agreement of the State and all Unions certified to represent employees in any State agency whose employees are covered by this Agreement, a single state-wide Health and Safety Committee, composed of such representatives as the State and participating Union may mutually agree, may be established. The committees established pursuant to the terms of this provision shall meet at mutually agreeable times, but not less frequently than once per quarter or as may be required to satisfy certification or accreditation standards. Unless extended by the mutual agreement of all members of any such committee, each meeting of the committee shall be limited to a duration of four (4) hours. Any such committee shall consider such matters relating to health and safety of employees covered by this Agreement and may make non-binding recommendations to the state, an agency covered by this Agreement, or in institution or facility covered by this Agreement regarding such matters. Every injury/occupational illness shall be investigated by the institution or agency in a timely matter. Such investigations shall be subject to review and comment by the appropriate Health and Safety Committee.
Health and Safety Committees. (a) The Employer shall continue to maintain a series of JHSCs providing effective coverage for its workplaces and activities.
Health and Safety Committees. 10 Where a Department Health and Safety committee has been established the Union 11 shall be permitted one (1) representative. Additional representatives may be added 12 upon mutual agreement. 14 The Union representative shall receive administrative leave for attendance at meetings 15 of the Committee. The Committee shall meet at least quarterly and more frequently 16 upon mutual agreement. 18 The purpose of the Committee is to engage in Health and Safety related activities such 19 as review accident reports or potentially hazardous situations; receive and investigate 20 allegations of possible safety violations; review existing safety policies, procedures 21 and/or equipment; review or develop alternate methods, procedures or equipment and 22 make recommendations; address public awareness campaigns; develop training 23 programs and/or policies and cooperatively support full compliance with established 24 safety procedures and proper use of safety equipment.
