Education/Union Convention Leave. (a) The Employer may grant leave of absence without pay to Union Stewards to attend Union conventions or educational sessions. This may be restricted to two (2) people at one (1) time. Such leave must be applied for at least two (2) weeks in advance.

(a) A leave of absence for two (2) Employees to attend Union conventions or Union sponsored education courses will be approved provided at least four (4) weeks notice is given. The convention schedule will be pre-arranged with the City, and will be scheduled around established work schedules so the Employee will not lose pay.

Leave of absence without pay and without loss of vacation, seniority, and benefits accrual shall be granted to not more than one employee at a time per clinic location elected or appointed to represent the Union at a conference, convention, or other Union business, where such leave will not detrimentally pay shall not exceed 10 working days per clinic in a calendar year. Such request must be made in writing and approved by the Employer at least two

The Employer shall grant a leave of absence to bargaining unit members who have successfully completed their probationary period for the purposes of attending union conventions or educational sessions. Such leaves must be applied for in writing at least four (4) weeks in advance of the commencement of the requested leave date. The cumulative day leave entitlements as contemplated under this Article are not to exceed twelve (12) working days in total for bargaining unit employees in any Collective Agreement contract year. The Employer will pay the lost wages of employees who are on Education/Union Convention leave of absence at the written request of the Union and the Union will reimburse the Employer the full amount of lost wages and ancillary costs including benefits paid to the employee. During said leave, employees will continue to accrue seniority and participate in the Employer’s benefit programs. **The Employer shall grant no more than 2 individuals upon request from the Local Union leave for up to 6 weeks per calendar year to be taken in a single block to assist the Local Union with servicing the membership and any community activities. Note: The Employee’s can not be from the same facility.
Education/Union Convention Leave. The Employer shall provide an unpaid leave of absence to one (1) employee (up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in any twelve (12) month period and not occurring during the months of May, June, July, or August) to attend Union education and convention events. Lost wages will be paid by the Union at no cost to the Employer.
