Education Leave. (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.

Education Leave. The parties acknowledge that the responsibility for professional development is shared between the nurse and the Hospital. In this regard, the local parties will endeavour to provide flexible work schedules to accommodate the nurse’s time off requirements.
Education Leave. (a) An employee may be granted education leave without pay for varying periods up to one (1) year, which can be renewed by mutual agreement, to attend a recognized institution for additional or special studies in some field of education in which special preparation is needed to enable the employee to fill the employee’s present role more adequately, or to undertake studies in some field in order to provide a service which the Employer requires or is planning to provide.

The Hospital shall pay the full cost of such course in advance. The Employee may apply to the Hospital for a reasonable advance to cover additional costs associated with the course.

Requests for such leave will not be unreasonably denied.

Education Leave. (a) An employee shall be granted leave with pay to take courses at the request of the Employer. The Employer shall bear the full cost of the course, including tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees and course required books, pre-approved out of town travelling and subsistence expenses and other legitimate expenses where applicable. Fees are to be paid by the Employer when due.
