CLASSIFICATIONS AND. The classification of jobs under this agreement shall be as agreed between the parties, see Appendix and and may not be changed during the term of this agreement except by mutual agreement. No employee can be moved to a lower paid classification as a result of changes to job descriptions during the life of this agreement. New jobs shall be filled for up to thirty (30) days, and the parties shall mutually agree upon the wage rate and classification prior to posting of shall be absent from work at the same time for this purpose unless otherwise agreed to between the parties. When measures or samples of the occupational environment are being taken, the CO-Chairpersons or shall be invited to participate in and observe the measurements or samplings. Protective devices and other equipment deemed necessary to protect employees from disease and injury shall be supplied by .the Company subject to the provisions of this collective agreement and as required by statute. The Company shall maintain its medical surveillance programs in compliance with statutory requirements. No employee will be disciplined for the reason that the employee has acted in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as amended from time to time. The Company will provide the Joint Health and Safety Committee with the equipment deemed necessary to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as amended from time to time, and the Company will train members of the Committee in the use of such equipment. In order to ensure that the implementation of safety-related maintenance work is followed up promptly, management shall advise the Joint Health and Safety Committee of the responsible for prioritizing maintenance work assignments with proposed completion dates in relation to safety matters. The Company will issue a letter to Personnel Support Co-ordinators stressing the need and importance of preventative maintenance programs with regard to health and safety. Members of the Joint Health and Safety Committee will share the results of all health and safety related tests. The Company and the Union are committed to efforts, where feasible, to ergonomic improvement within the workplace. The Joint Health and Safety Committee will receive training, considered appropriate by the Committee, with a view to raising Committee awareness to ergonomic problems, the timing and duration of such training to be recommended by the Committee.   • New Classifications If a new classification is created within the bargaining unit, the Employer agrees to meet with the Union and negotiate a rate of pay for this new classification. If the parties cannot reach agreement, at the request of either party, the matter shall be submitted to the arbitration procedure in Article 26 of this Agreement.
