JOB VACANCY. A budgeted position in the competitive service to which an appointment has not been made.
JOB VACANCY. When a regular job vacancy occurs, present employees shall be given consideration for filling the vacancy. The position shall be filled by the most qualified applicant.
JOB VACANCY. Before recruiting from outside sources to fill job vacancies or new jobs, it is the Employer's policy to "post" the new or vacant positions on the Staff Bulletin Board at any individual location. Employees who apply for the positions are interviewed and given preference over outside applicants if their qualifications and performance meet requirements. For positions of a specialized nature, a search for candidates from outside the company may take place simultaneously with the job posting. If there is any choice to be made between two employees who are otherwise relatively equal, the employee having the greater seniority shall receive the preference. Consistent with this policy, it is understood that in the event that either or both the present Distribution Centre operations were transferred to a new location during the term of this collective agreement, preference would be given to affected employees presently employed at other buildings should they wish to relocate. It is agreed that this letter of understanding shall form part of the collective agreement entered into between Zellers Inc. and the National Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Workers Union of Canada (CAW/TCA-Canada) and its Local 1000 which document is in effect for the period commencing on June 1, 2009 and ending on May 31, 2012.
JOB VACANCY. 17.01 Where a permanent vacancy occurs in a classification within the bargaining unit which the clinic decides to fill, or a new position within the bargaining unit is established by the Clinic, such vacancy shall be posted by the Clinic for a period of five (5) days excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays. All applications must come from persons outside the posted classification except for those who are currently not full-time and wish to become full-time and such applications are to be made in writing within the posted period. Second and subsequent vacancies which arise as a result of a job posting do not have to be posted, and will be filled from persons within the bargaining unit considering the criteria for selection in Article 17.04. If no qualified candidates are available, the Employer may hire from outside.
JOB VACANCY. 11.01 Where the Employer determines that a vacancy or new position exists within the bargaining unit, or where a temporary vacancy arises as a result of the necessity to replace a Nurse on a leave of absence expected to be for twelve (12) weeks or longer, the Employer shall post a notice of vacancy or new position for a period of five (5) working days.

Staff temporarily assigned to Material Handler duties pursuant to above shall, if required and if properly licensed, be permitted to operate all powered material handling equipment except Hi Bay Lifter during any such assignment. The scheduler will also assist in determining the necessity of and explaining assignments of qualified Material Handlers to Hi Bay Lifter equipment if necessary to facilitate the above. At the end of each six months in the position the incumbent's tenure maybe extended or terminated by mutual agreement or failing that, by either party, in which case the party who did not last make an appointment shall appoint a new incumbent forthwith. JOB VACANCY. 11.01 Job postings will be available on-line on the Company’s internal website, and, at the Company’s discretion, may also be posted on external websites used for that purpose. Such notice shall include the title and job duties of the position available, the skills required for the position, the closing date for submission of bids, and the work location of the position. Only those job vacancies which the Company has declared to be a job vacancy will be available for employee bids and applications from outside of the bargaining unit or outside of the Company. Notice will be posted one (1) week in advance of filling of vacancy.
JOB VACANCY. 14.1 Should a job vacancy occur that would result in an employee being upgraded, that job would be posted on the plant bulletin board for a period of forty eight (48) hours within four working days of the job becoming available. The senior applicant with the necessary skill and ability shall be given the position.
JOB VACANCY. Section 1: Job Openings. Where an existing or a new job within the bargaining unit becomes vacant, and the City decides to refill or fill it, the City may elect to fill the vacancy by promotion, reassignment or transfer, or employment of a new hire.
