Medical Surveillance. An ongoing medical surveillance program meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 shall be developed for personnel performing onsite activities.

Medical Surveillance. This section of the H&SP will describe medical surveillance that would be required for certain workers. In general, due to the presence of COPCs in soil and groundwater in the NRP, it is expected that construction activities involving excavation of soil may constitute “clean-up operations” or “hazardous substance removal work” as defined in the OSHA standards for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, 29 CFR 1910.120. Therefore, each construction contractor will assure that its on-site personnel conducting such activities, who may contact COPCs in subsurface soil or groundwater, have had training, and are subject to medical surveillance, in accordance with OSHA standards (“HAZWOPER-trained personnel”).
Medical Surveillance. All Employees will be eligible to participate in a medical surveillance program the cost of which will be fully borne by the Employer. The details of the program scope will be mutually agreed upon. The provider of the medical surveillance will be mutually agreed upon. Appointments for the program will be coordinated by the Employer during April and May of each year. All relevant findings will be provided to the Joint Health & Safety Committee by September of each year. No medical information shall be shared unless a form authorizing release of the information is provided by the Employee.

Tests & Affected Employees: Audiometric – This testing will be conducted annually for all employees. Isocyanate (lung function) – This testing will be conducted every six (6) months on all employees who work in the Paintshop and all Maintenance employees who maintain the Paintshop.

Medical Surveillance. The Contractor will offer medical surveillance examination services to Airport tenants, contractors, and local businesses including, but not limited to, the following areas: respiratory protection, hearing conservation, drug testing, tuberculosis (TB), pesticide applicator certification and blood borne pathogens/infection control. These examinations will follow the applicable American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Cal-OSHA recommendations.
