ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint one (1) Xxxxxxx for highway drivers and one (1) Xxxxxxx for the city drivers, and, if the operations are such as cannot be covered by these Stewards, additional stewards may be appointed. Wherever possible, grievances shall be processed during the working hours of the Xxxxxxx. A xxxxxxx shall receive his regular rate of pay when a grievance or pending grievances are processed with the Company on Company property, or at any other place which is mutually agreed upon by both the Union and the Company. If the Company representative is unable to meet the Xxxxxxx during the Xxxxxxx’x normal working hours, the Xxxxxxx shall be paid for all time spent during the processing of the grievance with the Company on Company property, or at any other place which is mutually agreed by both the Union and the Company. The provisions as outlined in paragraph are not subject to daily call-in guarantee and/or overtime provisions. In no case shall payment to Stewards for the time used in processing a grievance be extended beyond Step as outlined of the grievance procedure. Should the Company find that the Xxxxxxx’x activities interfere with the normal course of his duties or the duties of other employees, the Company may contact a Representative of the Local Union register a grievance, commencing with Step as outlined in Article section of this Agreement. The Union will inform the Company, in writing, of the name of the Xxxxxxx and of any subsequent change in the name of the Xxxxxxx. The Company will not be asked to recognize any Xxxxxxx until such notification from the Union has been received. The Company will notify the Union by registered mail, fax or telegram prior to the suspension or discharge of a Xxxxxxx. Failure of the company to comply with this procedure shall render the dismissal or suspension and void. For the purpose of layoff and the day-to-day allocation of work within his department, the “Chief’ Xxxxxxx shall be established on the seniority list as “second man”. In a department where there is more than one (1) Xxxxxxx, the “Chief’ Xxxxxxx shall be the Xxxxxxx for the purpose of applying this clause. There can also be a Xxxxxxx for the Oldcastle operation. ARTICLE STEWARDS. ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to elect or appoint one (1) Xxxxxxx in each department and/or shift, of which one (1) will be the Chief Xxxxxxx, to assist the employees with the presentation of their grievances. The Chief Xxxxxxx will normally deal on matters which are to be brought to the Company's attention.
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a reasonable number of Department Stewards to assist employees in presenting their grievances to representatives of the Company. It is clearly understood that Stewards, Union Officers and delegates will not absent themselves from their regular duties unreasonably in order to deal with grievances of employees ox with other Union business and that in accordance with this understanding the Company will compensate such employees for time spent in negotiating with the Company, in handling grievances of employees. No more than two employees will be remunerated if elected as delegates to a Union convention (no more than days) at their regular rate of pay and that this does not apply to time spent on such matters outside of regular working hours.

Stewards shall be qualified Journeymen Reinforcing employees of the company, who are familiar with placing operations. The Union shall provide the company with t names of all Stewards at the time of their appointment and before they assume their duties. The Union acknowledges that Stewards and other Union Officers, have regular work to do as Employees of the company, and such person shall not leave his job in connection with his duties as a Xxxxxxx or other Union Officer, without first obtaining the permission of his xxxxxxx or immediate supervisor, and such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. Under no circumstances shall Job Stewards or any Employee make an arrangement with the xxxxxxx or management, or vice versa, that will change or conflict any way with any sections or terms of this Agreement without approval of the Business Representative and the Employer.

In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or select stewards, whose duties shall be to assist an employee whom the xxxxxxx represents in preparing and in presenting a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

If of a grievance responsibility requires the absence from work of a member of the Grievance Committee, in order that the work of the Board shall not be unreasonably interrupted, such member shall not leave work without obtaining the permission of Principal. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld and such authorized absence shall be without loss of regular pay or seniority or other benefits. The. Board may refuse. to grant such permission at any time if the of requesting time off for the aforesaid purpose is being abused. When resuming regular work the member of the Grievance report to Principal or his her delegate.
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company acknowledges the Union to appoint a maximum of two (2) stewards for the purpose of discussing and adjusting grievances arising out of the interpretation, application or alleged violation of this Agreement. If the Union has a grievance, the Company shall a arrange a meeting with an official of the Union within ten (10) days excluding Saturday and Sunday and Statutory Holidays, from the time that the complaint arose, and shall, if necessary, follow through with a request for arbitration in the manner described under the grievance procedure. The Union will inform the Company, in writing, of the names of the Stewards and any subsequent change in the Stewards.
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint a minimum of one Xxxxxxx per shift per facility. It is understoodthe Unioncan appoint alternate Shop Stewards to replace Shop Stewards who are absent due to leave of absence, sickness, work or non work-related accidents, or any other absence provided for in this Agreement.
