ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company acknowledgesthe right of the Union to elect or appoint one Xxxxxxx in each department (grocery and produce) and/or shift, of which one (1) will be the Chief Xxxxxxx, to assist the employees with the presentationof their grievances. The Chief Xxxxxxx will normally deal on matters which are to be brought to the Company's attention.
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint a Xxxxxxx at each terminal and if the operations are such as cannot be covered by this Xxxxxxx, an additional Xxxxxxx may be appointed. Wherever possible grievances shall be processed during the normal working hours of the Xxxxxxx. A Xxxxxxx shall receive his regular rate of pay when grievances or pending grievances are processed with the Company on Company property or at any other place which is mutually agreed upon by both the Union and the Company. If the Company representative is unable to meet the Xxxxxxx during the Xxxxxxx'x normal working hours, the Xxxxxxx shall be paid at his basic hourly rate for all time spent during the processing of the grievance with the Company. However, such time spent shall not be subject to any call-in guarantee or overtime pro- visions. Should the Company find that a Xxxxxxx'x activities interfere with the normal course of his duties or the duties of other employees, the Company may contact a representative of the Local Union and register a grievance commencing with Step 2 of the Grievance Procedure set out in this Agreement. The Union will inform the Company in writing of the name of the Business Agent and Xxxxxxx and any subsequent change. The Company shall not be asked to any Business Agent or Xxxxxxx until such notification from the Union has been received. The Company will notify the Union by registered mail or telegram prior to the suspension or discharge of a Xxxxxxx. Failure of the Company to comply with this procedure shall render the dis- missal or suspension null and void. For the purpose of lay-off and the to-day allocation of work within the terminals, the Xxxxxxx shall enjoy his own seniority or that of the last man called in (excluding the senior man). In a terminal where there is more than one Xxxxxxx, the Xxxxxxx with the most seniority shall be the Xxxxxxx for the purpose of applying this clause. For the purpose of processing specific grievances or disputes, Business Repre- sentatives and Stewards shall have relevant trip sheets, book-in, book-out sheets, time cards and personnel discip- linary records made available to them within twenty-four hours at the Head Office terminal during the office hours of the Company and at other term- inals within five working days. ARTICLE SENIORITY Seniority shall be terminal wide but not interchangeable with any other depart- ment within the terminal. The purpose of seniority is to provide a policy governing w...
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to elect or appoint Shop Stewards, who shall be employees with at least twelve (12) months seniority with the Company, to deal with matters affecting employees in the bargaining unit. One Xxxxxxx shall be designated as Chief Xxxxxxx. A list of these Stewards shall be supplied to the Employer and any changes that may occur from time to time shall also be supplied. The Employer agrees to permit the Union to post notices of meetings and legitimate Union business, but not political matters. The Local Union Representative shall be permitted reasonable access to the Employer premises.
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to elect four (4) stewards from among the employees with more than six (6) months' continuous service to assist employees in presenting grievances to the designated representative of the Employer in accordance with the Grievance Procedure. One of the stewards shall be a Chief Xxxxxxx. The Union shall keep the Employer informed in writing of the name of the stewards and the effective date of their appointment. The Employer shall not be required to recognize any such stewards or committee members until it has been notified by the Union in writing. The Union acknowledges that stewards have regular duties to perform on behalf of the Employer, and that a xxxxxxx will not leave such duties in order to present a grievance under the Grievance Procedure without first obtaining the permission of his immediate Supervisor. Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied. The Employer agrees that a Xxxxxxx will not suffer any loss of pay for time necessarily spent during working hours while processing grievances under the Grievance Procedure. The Employer agrees to direct all newly engaged employees to report to the Chief Xxxxxxx or designate during first day of employment.
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint, or otherwise select, a President, Vice-president and four (4) stewards to assist employees in presenting their grievances. The zone within which each xxxxxxx is to function is set out in Article paragraph
ARTICLE STEWARDS. In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or select stewards, whose duties shall be to assist an employee whom the xxxxxxx represents in preparing and in presenting a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

The Union shall have the right to appoint or elect a Xxxxxxx and an alternate Xxxxxxx when the regular Xxxxxxx is not available in each yard to assist employees in presenting their grievances to the Employer and supervise the administration of this Agreement. When the Employer has more than one division covered by this Agreement, the Union shall have the right to appoint or elect a reasonable number of Stewards. The Union agrees that will keep the Employer supplied with a list of Stewards and Officers and any changes that occur. It understood that a duties shall no way conflict with his duties to the Employer, and he shall be held responsible for the same quantity and quality of work as other employees. The Xxxxxxx in each yard will have top seniority his yard for the purpose of lay-off, daily call-in, and the provision of Article only, and during seasonal lay-offs will be the last man his classification to be laid-off and the last man to be transferred out of his yard. The agrees to notify the Union in writing within two (2) working days from the date a Xxxxxxx is suspended or discharged. The Employer shall not require a Xxxxxxx to settle grievances during working hours without pay.
ARTICLE STEWARDS. The Union shall appoint or elect Stewards and shall notify in writing of such appointment or election. shall recognize Stewards and shall not discriminate against them for Xxxxxxx activity.
