UNION BUSINESS/REPRESENTATIVES. 6.1 The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to designate Business Representatives and Shop Stewards who shall be permitted to represent bargaining unit employees. The Union will inform the Office of Labor Relations of the names of Union representatives and Shop Stewards.
UNION BUSINESS/REPRESENTATIVES. 3 The Union Business Representatives will be designated in writing to the 4 Company and shall have access to the Company facility located at Phoenix Sky Harbor 5 International Airport subject to normal airport security procedures, for the purpose of 6 adjusting disputes, investigating working conditions, attending arbitration hearings, and 7 ascertaining that the Agreement is being adhered to, provided that the representative 8 shall not cause an interruption to the Company’s business operations. The 9 representative will notify the general manager or director of operations 24 hours in 10 advance or as soon as possible. 11 All costs associated with the Union Business Representative’s access, and visits, 12 to the Company’s facilities shall be the responsibility of the Union.

When designated Shop Stewards are granted paid release time they shall experience no loss in pay, however such time shall not be construed as work time and overtime will not be paid when meetings extend beyond the employee's regular work hours. Paid release time shall be granted by supervision following a request but in consideration of any job responsibilities. If permission for time off cannot be immediately granted, the supervisor will arrange for time off at the earliest reasonable time thereafter. The Union shall prevail upon all employees in the bargaining unit, and especially Shop Stewards, to make a diligent and serious attempt to resolve complaints at the lowest possible level. The Employer, likewise, shall prevail upon its supervisory personnel to cooperate fully with the Union’s representatives in the speedy resolution of any grievances that may arise.

The Union will supply the Employer with a key to the bulletin board. Any costs associated with replacement, upkeep, or installation will be paid for by the Union. Location of bulletin board to be determined by the Employer. Union business such as investigating grievances and other legitimate routine matters may be conducted on Police Department premises, provided that such business does not interfere with Police Department operations. The Employer shall provide reasonable access to Department premises to authorized Union representatives for the purpose of handling grievances and other legitimate Union business, provided that such access does not interfere with the work and dut...
UNION BUSINESS/REPRESENTATIVES. The City agrees that authorized Union representatives, who are currently certified in writing with the City and who have obtained advance approval from the City, may have reasonable access to City premises during working hours for assisting in the administration of this Agreement or conducting official Union business so long as such visits do not create any disruption of work.

  • Union Business (a) The Hospital shall grant leave of absence without pay to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, education classes and other Union business in connection with the administration of the collective agreement provided that such leave will not interfere with the efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied. In requesting such leave of absence for an employee or employees, the Union must give at least fourteen (14) days clear notice in writing to the Hospital, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice. The cumulative total leave of absence, the number of employees that may be absent at any one time from any one area, and the number of days of absence shall be negotiated locally and are set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. During such leave of absence, the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital on the basis of what his normal regular hours of work would have been, provided that the Union reimburses the Hospital in the amount of such salary and applicable benefits within thirty (30) days of billing. Notwithstanding the above, time spent by the eight (8) Executive Board members and seven (7) Alternate Executive Board members of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions to fulfill the duties of the position shall be in addition to leave for Union Business under this clause. Part-time and casual employees will be given full credit for seniority purposes for regularly scheduled hours missed in accordance with this provision.

  • Grievance Representatives Within 30 working days after the execution of this Agreement, the Union shall furnish the Xxxxxxx with a list of all persons authorized to act as the Chapter and UPI Local Grievance Representatives and shall update the list as changes occur. The designated Chapter Grievance Representative shall be an employee of the University and shall have the responsibility to meet classes, office hours, and other assigned duties and responsibilities. If the responsibilities of the Chapter Grievance Representative require rescheduling of the representative's University duties, the representative may, with the approval of the Xxxxxxx, arrange for the rescheduling of such duties or their coverage by colleagues. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The provisions of Article 15.4. shall also apply to the UPI Local Grievance Representative if he or she is an employee of the University.

  • Union Representatives Upon mutual agreement of the parties, the number may be altered from time to time. Where a Union Representative commences on an extended leave of absence, the Union will endeavour to find a temporary replacement for the Union Representative from within the Home.
