PERSONAL LEAVE AND/OR EMERGENCY LEAVE. 1. The Superintendent, or designee, may approve personal leave when an employee feels there is an important reason to be away from assigned duties. Personal leave for the current year will be granted based on the employee's cumulative leave balance at the beginning of the current contract year according to the following formula: Cumulative Sick Leave Personal Leave Entitlement 0 to 29 days 1 day 30 to 59 days 2 days 60 to 120 days 3 days Over 120 days 6 days

PERSONAL LEAVE AND/OR EMERGENCY LEAVE. Every teacher shall be granted three (3) days personal leave at full pay per school year for the purpose of attending to legal, personal business, and moral obligations which cannot be attended to at any other times except during school hours. A teacher shall notify the building principal, by completing the appropriate personal leave form, at least two (2) school days prior to the date of leave whenever possible. In the case of an emergency, the teacher must complete the appropriate personal leave form for the leave as soon as possible and in any event, no later than the day he/she returns to duty. Personal leave, except in the case of an emergency, shall not be granted the day prior to or after vacation periods, holidays, institute days, nor during the first or last day of the school year except for religious holidays. No more than three (3) teachers from a given attendance center nor more than a total of seven (7) in the District may take personal leave on the same day. Exceptions to personal and/or emergency leave may be granted by the Superintendent. Unused personal and/or emergency leave days for any teacher as of June 30 each year shall be added to said teacher's accrued sick leave.

Unused personal and/or emergency leave days as of June 30 each year shall be added to said employees’ accrued sick leave. Employees not using all of their personal and/or emergency leave days may elect to have one (1) such unused day carried over to the next fiscal year, thereby increasing their personal and/or emergency days for the subsequent fiscal year to a maximum of three (3) provided that the employees notify the business office of the District in writing of their intent to do so not later than June 15. Should an employee fail to notify the business office in writing of his/her intent to carry over one (1) unused personal and/or emergency leave day to the next fiscal year, then such day will carry over as accrued sick leave. Employees shall be notified regarding personal/emergency leave entitlement on subsequent paychecks.

  • Personal Emergency Leave 1. A teacher will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations other than personal illness beyond the control of the teacher which would significantly impair teaching service. Deductions from the gross pay of a teacher for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Personal Leaves 8.11.4.1 As approved by the Board, personal leaves without pay may be granted in cases of exceptional need for up to six (6) months. Any such leave exceeding one (1) semester shall not be counted toward tenure or promotion or for computing salary increments. These leaves may be extended by the PVPAA upon recommendation of the xxxx for up to one (1) year.

  • Unused Personal Leave Since a number for the available personal leave days has been established, a basic discussion will need to be had regarding unused personal leave days. Naturally, these differ from vacation days since the Employer will not always be required to pay the Employee when personal leave is taken. If a dollar amount will be attached to each personal leave day that is unused so that it can be paid to that Employee then, select the first checkbox presented in the list of options provided and record the dollar amount that shall be paid for one unused personal day.   • Personal Leave Day A. An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal leave day each fiscal year during the life of this Agreement if the employee has been continuously employed for more than four (4) months.

  • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.

  • Sick/Personal Leave Leave granted to the teacher for sick, personal or bereavement reasons.

  • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure and return. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Paid Personal Leave A.
