Hospital Committees. When an employee is required by their manager to participate on a Hospital committee said employee will be paid straight time for hourly wages and benefits and will continue to accrue seniority and service for all time required for said Committee. An employee who chooses to maintain a position on a Hospital Committee will be paid for hourly wages and benefits and accrue seniority and service for said hours when the Committee sits during said employee’s regular scheduled shift only. Volunteer Committee membership is at the discretion of the employee’s Manager. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld.

Hospital Committees. 24 The Hospital will notify the Association whenever it intends to establish a 25 committee or task force whose responsibility will involve nursing practice 26 and/or patient care. The Association will have timely opportunity to 27 recommend nurses for membership on such committees or task forces. The 28 Hospital will provide the Association with any minutes from or reports 29 produced by such committees or task forces. The Hospital will not establish 30 any committees or task forces whose responsibility will involve mandatory 31 subjects of bargaining without the consent of the Association.

Within the authority of the committee participants, both parties will make every effort to implement any agreement or plan which results from these meetings. If the participants are unable to implement the findings and recommendations of the Union-Management Committee, the findings and recommendations will be forwarded in writing to the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Vice- President for Medical Affairs, or designee, as appropriate, for consideration and response within thirty (30) days.

Hospital Committees. Where employees attend meetings of Hospital committees at the invitation and request of the Employer, their attendance shall be without loss of regular wages. Time off for the purposes of preparing for a meeting shall be provided as may be agreed between the Employee and their supervisor. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Time in attendance and time off for preparation, if any, shall not be counted towards Overtime.
