Extended Personal Leaves of Absence shall normally be for a period extending through the end of the current school year (upcoming school year when granted during the summer months). Leaves granted pursuant to12.10.1 (A) above may be for a period extending to the end of the first semester if so specified by the teacher.

Extended Personal Leaves. Full and Part Time Employees with at least one year of service who are performing at satisfactory or better performance level may request an unpaid leave of absence of at least one (1) month and no more than twelve (12) months in duration. This leave is for personal reasons and may not be used to work elsewhere or earn replacement income. This leave may not be taken in conjunction with any other leaves so as to extend any absence beyond twelve (12) months. The Employer may grant such leaves in its sole discretion. No Paid Holidays will accrue while an Employee is on Leave, no Vacation entitlement will be earned and Vacation pay will be prorated for the portion of the calendar year the Employee was at work. Further it is understood that following such leave the Employer will attempt to return the Employee to her former Position if there is an opening or make an effort to place her in any other appropriate vacancy. If there is no available Position or if the Employee chooses not to return, then employment and seniority will cease on the last day of the scheduled leave and there shall be no severance or notice.
Extended Personal Leaves. A Teacher may, at the discretion of the Board, be granted an unpaid leave of absence for a period of up to one school year. Extended personal leave will only be granted in extraordinary situations, where such leave is required for a compelling purpose. Written applications for such leaves shall be filed with the Personnel Director by July 1st preceding the year of the proposed leave. Written applications for extended personal leave must describe the reason(s) for the extended personal leave. The application must also state the anticipated date of return. By February 1st of the year prior to expected return from the leave, the Teacher shall notify the Personnel Director of his/her intention to return. Failure to provide such notification in timely fashion shall constitute a resignation. A teacher returning from such leave shall be reemployed in a position for which he/she is certified and qualified and shall be compensated at the same salary step as he/she occupied before the leave. No benefits shall be provided during such a leave.

Written applications for such leaves shall be filed with the Personnel Director by July 1st preceding the year of the proposed leave. Extended Personal Leaves. ‌ The Library, for good cause shown, may grant an extended personal leave of absence without pay for up to sixty (60) days. No PTO leave time shall accrue during such leave. No step increases with the salary range credits that accrue during the leave shall issue if such leave exceeds thirty (30) days. The Library has discretion to grant or deny such leave requests. All requests must be made to the Library Director or the Library Director’s designee.

  • Personal Leaves 8.11.4.1 As approved by the Board, personal leaves without pay may be granted in cases of exceptional need for up to six (6) months. Any such leave exceeding one (1) semester shall not be counted toward tenure or promotion or for computing salary increments.   • Sick and Personal Leave The Assistant Principal shall annually be entitled to twelve (12) days of sick leave and two (2) days of personal leave. Unused personal leave days will accumulate as sick leave days. Earned sick leave may accumulate to a maximum of 340 days. Every sick day that is issued for the current school year and eventually not utilized during that school year will be multiplied by 1.5 at the end of the school year (e.g., 10 unused sick days on June 30, 2022 will be converted in a credit of 15 sick days for the Assistant Principal’s use.) This unused sick day multiplier will not be in effect during the four (4) years prior to retirement.
