Sick and Personal Leave. The Assistant Principal shall annually be entitled to twelve (12) days of sick leave and two (2) days of personal leave. Unused personal leave days will accumulate as sick leave days. Earned sick leave may accumulate to a maximum of 340 days. Every sick day that is issued for the current school year and eventually not utilized during that school year will be multiplied by 1.5 at the end of the school year (e.g., 10 unused sick days on June 30, 2022 will be converted in a credit of 15 sick days for the Assistant Principal’s use.) This unused sick day multiplier will not be in effect during the four (4) years prior to retirement.

Sick and Personal Leave. Payout Eligibility 4-1 At the time of termination, employees who have completed twenty (20) years of qualifying service will be eligible for a Sick and Personal Leave payout. Qualifying service will be measured to the last day of active employment unless the employee has an annual contract that has been fulfilled. In such case the last day of the contract year shall be used to determine service.

The Chief Executive Officer shall be allowed to use all accrued sick and personal leave while employed by the District, subject to the same eligibility limits for use as regularly-appointed full-time administrators of the District. The Chief Executive Officer shall be eligible for payment for accrued unused sick leave, if any, at the Chief Executive Officer’s then current rate of compensation upon retirement, subject to any limits established by State law, including Ohio Revised Code § 124.39, or Board policy.
