Effect of Leave of Absence. 2.641 Paid Leave of Absence--An approved paid leave of absence shall not constitute a break in service and shall count as District Service credit toward the consecutive years of service requirements for the Retiree Health and Welfare benefits.

Effect of Leave of Absence. Unless otherwise required by law, in the event that the Participant has taken in excess of thirty (30) days in a leave or leaves of absence during the period beginning on the Grant Date and ending on the Performance Share Vesting Date, the Performance Share Vesting Date will be deferred for a period of time equal to the duration of such leave or leaves of absence.
Effect of Leave of Absence. In the event that the Participant takes an approved leave or leaves of absence during the period beginning on the Grant Date and ending on the applicable Unit Vesting Date, the Units shall continue to vest during such leave or leaves of absence. If the Participant fails to return to Service at the end of the approved leave period, then, except to the extent required by applicable law, the Participant’s Service shall be treated as having terminated on the last day of such approved leave.
Effect of Leave of Absence. In the event of an employee's absence without pay from the Employer exceeding thirty (30) continuous calendar days, the employee will not accumulate service for any purpose under the Collective Agreement for the duration of such absence. The benefits concerned shall be appropriately reduced on a prorata basis and the employee's anniversary date adjusted accordingly. During such absence, the employee will be responsible for full payment of all subsidized employee benefits in which the employee is participating. The employee may arrange with the Employer to prepay to the Employer the full premium of such subsidized employee benefits for the entire period of the leave to ensure the employee's continued coverage.

Notwithstanding the above, where an employee is on sick leave or receiving Workplace Safety and Insurance Board benefits or has qualified for Workplace Safety and Insurance Board benefits and is awaiting payment, seniority for all purposes shall continue for a maximum of thirty (30) months.

Effect of Leave of Absence. An employee’s seniority date will not be adjusted by the length of a leave of absence. However, the period of the leave of absence will extend the date on which the employee becomes eligible for a step increase, and the date the employee will be eligible for a change in his/her annual leave accrual.
Effect of Leave of Absence. WITHOUT PAY UPON COMPENSATION‌ Time spent on a leave of absence without pay of ten (10) or less consecutive workdays shall not affect the pay adjustment eligibility during a rating period. Such leaves in excess of ten (10) consecutive working days may affect eligibility during a rating period at the discretion of the Appointing Authority in a manner consistent with state and federal law.

Notwithstanding the above, where an employee is on WSIB, or has qualified for WSIB and is awaiting payment, seniority for all purposes shall continue for a maximum of twenty-four (24) months. Seniority will be calculated based on the average hours worked in the twenty-six (26) week period prior to the last day worked.
