Effect of Leave of Absence. In the event of an employee's absence without pay for any reason including layoff, the Employer will continue the employee's benefit premiums for the balance of the month in which the absence begins. Thereafter, the employee is responsible for full payment of all employee benefits in which the employee is participating. The employee may arrange with the Employer to prepay to the Employer the full premium of such employee benefits during the absence to ensure the employee's continued coverage.
