Copies of all postings shall be sent to the Local President. 2902 Provided that equivalent qualifications are met, preference shall be given to nurses presently in the bargaining unit who have submitted a written application for the vacant, term or new position. 2903 Each nurse who applies for a posted vacancy will be notified of the disposition of her/his application. The name of the successful applicant and the position awarded will be posted electronically for a period of seven (7) calendar days with a copy of this information forwarded to the Union. In the case of a nurse from the bargaining unit being awarded a position, her/his transfer shall be carried out within the time frame of the period of notice of termination for the position from which she/he is transferring, unless operational requirements do not permit such transfer within that time frame. 2904 The applicant selected for any position shall receive written confirmation of the salary scale, her/his placement on such scale, and any special conditions that may be applicable to her/his appointment within two (2) weeks, where possible, of the selection date.

Such postings shall state the Employer, the classification, job title, required qualifications, site(s)/ base location, current or anticipated shift and hours of work, and wage rate. Job descriptions shall be available to applicants upon request. 1103 An employee on any leave shall be considered for a posted vacancy provided that the employee submits an application in accordance with the Employers’ job posting application procedures. 1104 Seniority shall be considered as a factor in vacancy selection (including promotion and transfer) and if all other selection criteria are relatively equal, it shall be considered as the governing factor. Selection criteria shall be available to applicants on request. 1105 In a selection process where there are external applicants and the selection criteria are relatively equal amongst applicants, preference shall be given to employees presently in the employ of the Employer who have submitted a written application for the vacant, term or new position. 1106 An employee who applies for a posted vacancy with their Employer and who is unsuccessful shall be, upon written request, given the reasons in writing as soon as reasonably possible. 1107 All promotions and voluntary transfers to a different department/base location or classification are subject to a three (3) month trial period, which may be extended up to an additional three (3) months if the Employer so requests and the Association agrees. 1108 During the trial period, if the employee proves to be unsatisfactory in the new position, or if they wish to revert voluntarily, they shall be returned to their former position if reasonably possible. All other employees so affected shall be returned to their former positions if reasonably possible.
